The Rangoon Creeper (Madhumalti) is one of my favourite things about Goa right now 🌸
This vine is everywhere at this time of year — tumbling over walls and fences — and if you've walked past one, you've probably caught that soft, sweet scent without even realising where it came from.
The coolest thing about this flower? It changes colour as it ages — white to pink to deep red. So one vine can look like a whole bouquet.
Madhumalti has been used in Ayurveda for centuries for skin health, digestion, and more. It's one of those plants that's beautiful AND functional — our kind of plant 🌿

A few weeks back we spent a weekend at Galgibaga Beach in South Goa and stumbled right into turtle hatching season — honestly could not have planned this better! 🐢
Galgibaga is one of Goa's last protected nesting beaches for the Olive Ridley sea turtle, and the Goa Forest Department does such incredible work through the season — monitoring every nest and keeping the eggs safe until it's time. We went down to the beach at night, a little crowd of us, and watched the forest guards collect the hatchlings and lead them to the shoreline. They used a bright light to guide the little ones into the water and we all just stood there in complete awe.
Something that really made the experience even better — everyone there was so respectful. Nobody tried to touch the hatchlings or interfere in any way, and the forest guards were given the space to do their work. That's exactly how it should be. These are wild animals and this is a protected site, and if you ever get the chance to witness something like this, please watch from a distance and follow the forest department's guidance. The turtles' safety always comes first. 🙏
If you're ever in Goa between March/ April, this is something really special to experience. So grateful to have witnessed it 🌊

a slow goa weekend was exactly what I needed 🌊
stayed at Casa Galgibaga right on one of Goa's last quiet, unspoiled beaches — and here are my 3 favourite things about the place:
🟡 the tiles — hand-painted, colourful, so classically Goan. every wall is giving.
🍳 the breakfast — big, proper, home-style Goan food. the kind that keeps you full till dinner.
💧 the water dispenser — filtered water in every room, no plastic bottles. honestly this should be the norm everywhere. it's such a simple, thoughtful switch.
Galgibaga beach itself is magic — no shacks, no noise, just a long stretch of sea. turtle nesting ground too, so it's protected and stays beautifully quiet.

There’s something about packing for a beach weekend that feels a little like choosing your mood.

Sun-warmed skin, salty air, hair doing its own thing (as it should)… and a tiny pouch of things that make you feel like yourself, even when you’re a little sun-dazed and sandy.

Here’s what made it into mine this weekend:

– Mini soap (for those post-beach, rinse-the-day-off showers)
– Lip balm (because the sun is not gentle)
– Deodorant balm (fresh, but still soft on skin)
– Face cleansing balm (to melt away sunscreen + sea + everything)
– Mosquito repellent (because Goa evenings come with uninvited guests)
– Zayo body lotion (for skin that’s had a long day in the sun)

All of it tucked into one little bag, ready to go wherever the weekend takes me 🌊

One thing people don’t realise is that we make hundreds of these tiny soaps for hotels… by hand.

Which means somewhere in Goa there’s a table covered in very small soaps and me stamping them like my life depends on it.

Every year, between February and April, the surangi trees begin to bloom along the Konkan coast — especially in the Sindhudurg region just north of Goa. It’s not a scent you come across everywhere, which somehow makes it feel even more special when you do.

Tiny, creamy blossoms with a fragrance that feels soft and deep all at once. The kind that stops you mid-walk.

For generations, local women have gathered these flowers and strung them into little garlands for their hair — delicate, fleeting, and impossibly beautiful. The same flowers that quietly grow in our backyards also travel the world, prized in fine perfumery for their rich, intoxicating scent.

It’s one of those small reminders of how extraordinary our local landscape really is.

Sometimes the most precious ingredients in the world are blooming right outside the door. 🌼✨
