Independence Day Address — IMA Family
Respected senior colleagues, esteemed members of IMA, dear families, and my dear children,
A very warm Happy Independence Day to each one of you.
As we gather today as the IMA Family, we are not merely celebrating 15th August—we are celebrating the values that make our nation strong: freedom, unity, responsibility, sacrifice and service.
For us as doctors, the meaning of independence has an even deeper dimension. Every day, we are entrusted with the lives, hopes and faith of people. Our profession gives us an opportunity to serve society in one of the most meaningful ways possible.
Today, while remembering the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the brave men and women who continue to safeguard our nation, let us also remember that nation-building is not the responsibility of a few—it is the responsibility of each one of us.
As members of IMA, let us pledge to continue working together—not only for the medical fraternity, but also for our community. Let us promote health awareness, support our children, stand together for our colleagues, encourage ethical medical practice and contribute wherever society needs us.
And today is especially about our IMA families and our children. Our children are the future citizens of this great country. The patriotic poems, songs, drawings and performances we are celebrating today may seem small, but they are planting something much bigger—a sense of belonging, responsibility and love for our nation.
Let us teach them that loving India is not only about celebrating Independence Day. It is about being honest, compassionate, responsible and willing to contribute to society every single day.
As President, I feel privileged to stand before such a wonderful IMA Family. Let us remain united, support one another and make our association a family that stands together—in celebration as well as in difficult times.
May our Tricolour always fly high, may our country continue to progress, and may every member of our IMA Family contribute towards making India healthier, stronger and more compassionate.
Jai Hind!
Vande Mataram!
Jai IMA!
