Happy to share that today I discharged a 17-year-old girl with aplastic anemia after a successful Allogeneic BMT/HSCT on Day +17.

This was a particularly challenging transplant, with drug-induced hepatitis and HRCT showing ground-glass opacities in the pre-BMT period. With careful modification of antifungal prophylaxis and intensive supportive care, including enhanced VOD prophylaxis, we successfully navigated the critical phase.

Feeling truly blessed and grateful. 🙏

Happy to share that today we are discharging a 4-year-old boy with FLT3-positive AML in CR2 after a successful allogeneic HSCT/BMT. ❤️

A special appreciation to Dr. Abhiniti and Manoj Ji from our Blood Centre for their exceptional dedication. The team started apheresis as early as 6 AM, demonstrating remarkable commitment to make the donor collection possible. 🙏

My sincere thanks to Dr. Basudev, who referred this child from Hyderabad for BMT and trusted our team with his care. His confidence and support have been truly valuable. 🙏

Heartfelt thanks to our BMT, Laboratory, PICU, Nursing and Administrative teams at Medanta Patna, and to the Government of Bihar for their support.

Today, we successfully discharged our 3rd Matched Sibling Donor (MSD) Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplant recipient—a 14-year-old girl—after a successful BMT.

With this achievement, Medanta, Patna has now completed 20 Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplants (HSCTs), including a hat-trick of successful allogeneic transplants.

This milestone reflects the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of our multidisciplinary transplant team and the unwavering support of our institution. We are also grateful to the Government of Bihar for its invaluable financial assistance, which has helped make these life-saving transplants accessible to deserving patients.

Every successful transplant is more than a medical achievement—it is a new hope, a second chance, and a new life.
