People in the art industry have succeeded with strong determination that helped them in turn to build successful carriers. Gujarat – the state of art and artisan since primitive ages having its existence as one of the prime historic civilizations has maintained its proud position till date. Art has been the major characteristic of definition for Gujarat. Tattoos known as the identical marks of a particular tribe then have now turned into a fashionable accessory for the young and adults. Tattoos have their meaning broadened with the passage of time. And in this state a young boy from the land of medieval gurus and sages – Dehradun flourished himself as the first professional tattooist that reintroduced the trend of fashion tattoos in Gujarat. It was the time of the famous destructive floods of 2006 that he came to the city for the first time and saw it flooding all over. Got admitted in Asia’s No.1 Fine Arts College – the Maharaja Sayajirao University and begun spinning his dreams every single day. He begun with temporary tattoos as a fantasy from his college celebrations and then stepped out with a kiosk outside the campus on the roadside. Today he stands with the Largest Professional Tattoo Set Up in India with two branches in Gujarat and one in his hometown, while working for 3 franchisees in mega cities of Gujarat. The Head Office is in Baroda – the Cultural City of Gujarat and Vallabh Vidhya Nagar – the Education Hub. Here seasons are on from rain to shine as the city is filled with migrants from the nation. Being a sculptor and working over stones, wood, metal and different materials he learnt to sculpt over skin since 2006, he stood as a pioneer in reintroducing Tattoos in Gujarat and is working his every dime over many verticals of art work may it be the tattooing to teaching. He has introduced many young artists as tattooist trained under him. Few were locals while a few from far states of India and one from Nepal including female students. Teaching them gave him the satisfaction of helping the curious to learn and help them avail the opportunity to learn from a guide which he fell short of. On the run he stumbled thrice wherein his identity and life were at stake but his heart of service to man is service to god kept him well along the tides and brought him ashore astonishing his ruiners. He had named his firm as SPARK which then was renamed to DA’ART which is now dedicated to Art only and completely. Da Art Works takes care of conceptual events, set designing, art interiors, body piercing and permanent tattoos with extraordinary concepts of stippling and portrait tattoos. Students that have learnt with Da’art have been working abroad as well. Art the insomniac passion whirls like a centipede in the brain, has led engineers, photographers and commercial youngsters to learn tattooing. One of the engineering student though working as a successful professional in London is practicing his skill for pleasure and extra pocket, while a young farmer from Nepal has been farming his skill roots in his hometown as a tattooist. Local youngsters including girls from Fine Arts College and lower middle class too have learnt the art and are earning a splendid lifestyle. It is not needed that only youngsters have turned up, a father of a child nearing his forties has learned it too, tattooing people at his “KK’s Ink”. An airport crew man is pursuing tattooing now in Lucknow as “Apple Boys”, a son of tradesman is running his tattoo studio as “Chikaza tattoo studio”; last but not the least learning has no age bar, culture bar and no profession bar, a learner desires knowledge that is capable to suffice his needs of knowledge and post knowledge benefits such as monetary and societal status. In this era of showbiz it has grown necessary to step in a rush car that can provide a fast income. But if this was the truth then tattooist would have been far ahead of Tata Ratan and Steve Jobs. Young tattooists need to take bitter pills of tough earning with hygienic tattoos; quality work and quality of materials used must be maintained, in the course of earning bigger with none of the above is a risky job and soon medical allegations will be applied over tattooists in India as it is prevalent abroad. Tattoos are a fine hobby but a tough decision to make while getting a tattoo done over oneself. Tattoos are fashion icons but should have a reason to be made as a tattoo means an identity of the person and not simply a fashion mark. Following some Hollywood actor or Bollywood actor is something hilarious as the tattoo showed in the movie is for some other person and situation and may not be fit for somebody else. A tattoo must be made on the basis of one’s upbringing, culture, professional and social group and future career and life goals. Or else it must a reason or a concept behind it as a reason of these aspects it makes one proud about the tattoo to be shown and to carry it. The SPARK of art that struck Vivek before 7 years made it difficult for him to survive as a businessman and an artist, while me being a Business Manager and an Educationist; made successful business and life partners. My tilt towards art and obviously Vivek’s courage to bring his passion as his profession drew us stronger and today as a result of our hard work and determination we stand as the Largest Professional Tattoo Set-up.
