JOINTS
A joint is the place where two bones meet.
Types of joints:
Fibrous joint – no movement (skull)
Cartilaginous joint – little movement (vertebrae)
Synovial joint – free movement
Types of synovial joints:
• Hinge joint – knee, elbow
• Ball and socket – shoulder, hip
• Pivot – neck
• Saddle – thumb
• Condyloid – wrist
• Gliding – ankle, wrist
