🧪 RA FACTOR & CRP TEST — KNOW YOUR INFLAMMATION
Joint pain or unexplained inflammation should not be ignored. RA Factor and CRP are commonly used blood tests that can provide valuable information when evaluated along with symptoms and other investigations.
🔬 RA FACTOR (Rheumatoid Factor) • Detects an antibody called rheumatoid factor in the blood
• Commonly used when Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is suspected
• May also be positive in other autoimmune diseases and some infections
• A positive result does not confirm RA by itself
• Doctors may correlate it with Anti-CCP, ESR, CRP and clinical examination
🧪 CRP (C-Reactive Protein) • Protein produced mainly by the liver in response to inflammation
• Can rise with infection, autoimmune inflammation, tissue injury and other inflammatory conditions
• Useful for monitoring inflammation and response to treatment
• CRP is not disease-specific, so an elevated result does not identify the exact cause

💡 WHY ARE BOTH TESTS IMPORTANT
RA Factor provides information about an autoimmune antibody, while CRP provides information about the current inflammatory response. Using them together with clinical findings and other tests can help doctors assess and monitor inflammatory conditions.
