While we were on our first meditation camp, one of the big temples in Tapovan gave a speech about us to 700 people who’d flown in from all over the world. We’d not been to this temple before, so it was quite a surprise to be recognized like this.
We had no idea this had happened, but someone turned up to our house inviting us for lunch later in the week as everyone who’d heard wanted to meet us.
When we arrived, we were honored as holy people and thanked for our spiritual contribution to Rishikesh and the world (an energy thing).
We were really deeply touched to be acknowledged in this way.
Over the next week, a select few more babas and saddhus from our part of the Ganga strip were recognized, and they were the really serious, proper ones- so we felt humbled to be recognized alongside them. These are men that have left their lives to live in conscious relationship with the universe. My respect for that In unexplainably huge- and it has helped me to really trust into the unseen alchemy of this universe.
I was the only woman recognized, and actually for this branch of temples, that’s a really big, progressive thing for them to include me at all. To be honest, I actually couldn’t believe it. 🙏💗 I still can’t. I’m so moved by the openness and acceptance.
I also thought it was really cool that they were acknowledging and thanking people in their spiritual festival, who were not part of their specific religion - but just wanted to honour them with gratitude for their spiritual contribution to the world. 😍🥰♥️
And don’t worry. It hasn’t gone to our heads. Of the saddhus we know that were recognized as well they were quick to talk with us about the play of ego that happens when you step on stage, and so we had a moment of ‘wow - people see what we’re doing and it really matters’, but we know its allure and know not to stay there or get stuck in that self importance. It was still very cool and appreciated though. 🙏💗💫
