Think about it.
When you lie to someone, they may know or they may not. If they know, they may feel hurt, lose trust, distance themselves, and eventually move on with their lives. If they don’t know, they simply continue living inside the version of reality you created for them.
But You know.
You carry the weight of that untruth. That Asatya — the opposite of Satya, truthfulness, one of the Yamas in Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras.
Your body knows.
Your consciousness knows.
Your spirit knows when it is not standing in alignment.
In Sanskrit, another word for falsehood is Anṛta — that which is not aligned with ṛta, the deeper cosmic order of things.
A wise man once told me:
“VJ, I don’t have time to lie. I don’t have time to remember what I said, to whom, and which version of myself I was pretending to be. The more I lie, the more I have to live inside a false version of my own truth. It is so much easier to be honest. You are what you are. Be what you are. How long are you going to keep wearing the proverbial makeup?”
Truth is not always easy. But it is lighter. Tread lightly. Be *Light. 💡
