Chronic Irritant Hand Dermatitis 🖐️

“Paani se haath dhone ke baad aur zyada dryness, scaling aur roughness?”
It may not be just dry skin.

Repeated exposure to water, soaps, detergents, sanitizers and chemicals can gradually damage the skin barrier and lead to chronic irritant hand dermatitis.

🔹 Dry, rough palms
🔹 Fine scaling
🔹 Cracks/fissures
🔹 Burning or irritation
🔹 Often worsens with frequent washing or wet work

What helps?
✔️ Reduce unnecessary water/chemical exposure
✔️ Use a gentle cleanser
✔️ Apply a thick moisturizer frequently, especially after washing
✔️ Use protective gloves during wet work
✔️ Persistent cases may require medical evaluation to rule out allergic contact dermatitis, psoriasis or fungal infection.

Don’t keep treating chronic hand scaling as “simple dryness.” Find the trigger and repair the skin barrier.

White patches on the back? It may not be Vitiligo! 👀

This patient presented with itchy white patches over the back for 3 months and was diagnosed with Tinea Versicolor (Sidhma Kushta)—a common superficial fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of Malassezia yeast.

Common signs include:
✔ White, brown or pink patches
✔ Fine powdery scaling
✔ Mild itching (often worse with sweating)
✔ Commonly affects the back, chest, neck and shoulders

⚠️ Don’t ignore these patches or start steroid combination creams on your own. A proper diagnosis is important because many skin conditions can look similar but require different treatments.

Remember: Even after successful treatment, the skin colour may take weeks to months to return to normal.

If you’re experiencing similar symptoms, consult a qualified doctor for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
