Privilege to Speak at the 10th DTECON 2026 in Jaipur, on "How low should we go with LDL cholesterol?" The evolving role of PCSK9-targeted therapies in cardiometabolic risk reduction.
The field has moved far beyond statins alone. We now have powerful injectable PCSK9 monoclonal antibodies such as Evolocumab and Alirocumab, RNA-based therapy with Inclisiran, and the emerging prospect of oral PCSK9 inhibition with Enlicitide.
These advances are steadily changing how we approach cardiovascular prevention, especially in people with diabetes, familial hypercholesterolaemia, established cardiovascular disease or LDL-C that remains above target despite conventional treatment.
Having contributed professionally to the Evolocumab Repatha Vesalius-CV programme during my clinical research journey, presenting this subject carried a special significance. It was a moment where my experience in global clinical research and my everyday clinical practice came together on the same stage.
The experience became even more special when I was felicitated by Dr. S. K. Sharma, a true stalwart of endocrinology with nearly four decades of clinical and academic experience. Receiving the honour from someone with such an enduring legacy in the field was both humbling and deeply memorable.
My sincere gratitude to the organizing committee, distinguished faculty and delegates for the invitation, warmth and enriching academic exchange.
The future of lipid management is not simply about lowering a number, it is about intervening earlier, treating risk more precisely and preventing cardiovascular events before they occur.
