Encouraging Para Sports and Inclusion

A team from Amar Seva Sangam visited the Pattakurichi SDAT Sports Complex to meet the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin on 6 March 2026.

Our children warmly welcomed him with flowers. During the interaction, Mr. Daniel explained the participation of our children in para sports, the training programs conducted, and the opportunities created for children with disabilities to actively participate in sports.

On behalf of Amar Seva Sangam, we also extended an invitation for him to visit our organization.

Para athletes with spinal cord injury and 15 children from the residential home participated in this visit.

The visit highlighted the importance of creating inclusive opportunities in sports for children with disabilities.

Advancing Inclusive Career Pathways

We are proud to share a significant milestone under a pilot initiative by Tamil Nadu Model Schools aimed at strengthening post-school transition planning for youth with Intellectual Disabilities.

Through the Enabling Inclusion (EI) Application developed by Amar Seva Sangam, students who have completed Class XII are being assessed using the VAPS (Vocational Assessment and Programming System) tool.

The VAPS framework evaluates:
• Functional capacity & adaptive behavior
• Work-related competencies
• Task performance skills
• Overall vocational readiness

The EI App enables structured scoring, digital documentation, and individualized reports to support evidence-based career planning and long-term livelihood development.

With ISO/IEC 27001 (ISMS) certification, Amar Seva Sangam ensures robust data privacy and secure information management.

This initiative lays the foundation for scalable, outcome-oriented transition models that promote independence, dignity, and meaningful workforce participation.

Assistive Devices Assessment Camp – 17 February 2026!

Amar Seva Sangam , in collaboration with APD, Bengaluru (Association of People with Disability), successfully conducted an assessment camp for assistive devices for persons with disabilities.
A total of 126 individuals were assessed during the camp. Detailed measurements were taken to ensure that each beneficiary receives an assistive device tailored to their unique needs.

The initiative aims to enhance mobility, independence, and overall quality of life, empowering individuals to participate fully in their communities.

We remain committed to building inclusive and accessible environments for all.

Empowering NGOs for Inclusive Rehabilitation

In January 2026, Amar Seva Sangam (ASSA) conducted a 5-day Rehabilitation Aspect Training for its partner NGO Gandhigram.

The training strengthened their capacity to implement a Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Program in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu.

👥 15 multidisciplinary participants
🎓 Training on child development (0–6 years), disability identification, screening tools, CP, Autism, ID, ADHD, SLD & more
⚙️ Hands-on inputs: GMFM, GMFCS, PORTAGE, VAKT, assistive devices & rights-based rehabilitation

We also support NGOs through the Enabling Inclusion Amar Seva App in program design, funding, recruitment, technology integration, and training.

Amar Seva Sangam Achieves ISMS Certification & Launches Internal Newsletter "Nam Vaanam"

We are happy to announce that Amar Seva Sangam has reached two major operational goals. On February 9, 2026, at our REC Hall, we officially inaugurated our internal newsletter, "Nam Vaanam," and were awarded the ISMS (Information Security Management System) Certification.
