Fever Decoded series - 🦟 Which dengue test should you do—and on which day of fever?

The answer depends on the timing of your illness! 👇

🩸 Day 1–7: NS1 antigen and/or RT-PCR can help detect dengue early.
🧪 From Day 4–5 onwards: Dengue IgM starts becoming useful.
🔬 After Day 7: IgM testing is commonly useful for diagnosis.
⚠️ IgG alone does NOT confirm acute dengue—it may indicate previous exposure.

Don’t just look at positive or negative—always ask:
Which test was done, and on which day of fever?

🌡️ FEVER DECODED – Day 2: FLU VACCINE 💉

“Why do I need a flu vaccine if I’m healthy?”

Because influenza is not always just a simple fever. Vaccination helps reduce your risk of flu and, importantly, can reduce the risk of severe illness and complications.

💉 Especially important for older adults, young children, pregnant women, and people with diabetes, heart/lung disease or weakened immunity.

Prevention is better than treatment. Talk to your doctor about your annual flu vaccine.
