At Skand Centre for Child Development, we believe that some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the therapy room.

Our adventurous and relaxing trip to Coconest Eco Village, Pollachi was a beautiful opportunity for our children and parents to connect with nature, create joyful memories, and strengthen their bonds as one Skand family. Nestled amidst lush coconut groves, the eco-village offers a peaceful countryside experience with activities such as horse riding, cycling, outdoor games, children’s play areas, and open green spaces that encourage exploration, movement, and family interaction. Every smile, every laugh, every new experience reflected the importance of giving our children opportunities to explore the world with confidence. Whether it was running freely in nature, enjoying exciting activities, or simply sharing quiet moments with family, each experience contributed to their social, sensory, emotional, and physical development.

For parents, it was a chance to step away from daily routines, relax, connect with other families, and witness their children’s abilities blossom in a natural environment. Together, we celebrated inclusion, friendship, and the simple happiness of being surrounded by nature.

Thank you to all our wonderful children, parents, and the Skand team for making this outing truly unforgettable. Here’s to creating many more moments of learning, laughter, and lifelong memories—together as one family. 💚

Insights with Skand – 10

On 9th May at Skand Centre for Child Development, Tirupur, Dr. Manjula delivered an enlightening session on:

“Is Your Child Failing Academics, or Is the System Failing Your Child?”

The session highlighted the various educational opportunities, accommodations, rights, and government schemes available through both the State and Central Governments for children with neurodivergence and learning difficulties. Parents and professionals gained valuable insights into creating inclusive learning environments and ensuring that every child receives the support they deserve to thrive academically.

Friday Ritual at Skand – Home Program Day

Every Friday at Skand is observed as “Home Program Day,” a meaningful parent–therapist discussion session conducted along with the child. This session focuses on reviewing the child’s weekly progress, discussing improvements observed at home and in therapy, and addressing any challenges faced by the child or parent.

The session helps in building a strong partnership between parents and therapists by ensuring consistent communication, guidance, and collaborative planning. Parents are encouraged to share observations, concerns, and achievements, while therapists provide strategies, home activities, and support tailored to the child’s developmental needs.

At Skand, we believe that active parental involvement and continuity of learning at home play a vital role in every child’s growth and success.
