Breva At Breva, we prioritize early detection of breast cancer.

We begin by conducting comprehensive breast cancer awareness camps to educate the community about risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of regular screenings.

According to the World Health Organization’s first-ever survival estimates, India’s five-year breast cancer survival rate is around 65.7%. That’s meaningful progress, but it still trails the global average of 77.8% and high-income countries at 87.3%.

The main reason for this gap? Late diagnosis. Low awareness, social stigma, and limited access to nearby healthcare often stop women from getting checked in time.

Breast cancer is highly treatable — and catching it early makes treatment much simpler and more successful but closing this gap isn’t only about medicine. It’s about community. When we encourage regular check-ups, spread awareness, and support affordable, accessible care, we help make sure every woman gets the timely care she deserves.

Please share this to raise awareness, break the stigma, and remind the women in your life to always put their health first. 💕

Because early detection can save lives, and awareness is the first step toward prevention. 🦷✨

Together, let’s encourage regular screenings, healthy habits, and brighter smiles.

According to a recent report in the Times of India (Ahmedabad & Vadodara editions), breast cancer incidence in India has surged 1.3 times over the last three decades, with mortality rates climbing by a staggering 74%. Citing a global study in The Lancet Oncology, the report highlights a concerning shift toward a younger demographic, with cases among women aged 20–54 rising by 29%.

This surge is compounded by “financial toxicity,” as modern immunotherapy drugs can cost up to 80 times the average monthly income in India. Because these life-saving treatments remain out of reach for many, early screening and detection are no longer just medical recommendations—they are the most powerful tools we have to save lives and prevent economic catastrophe. We must move beyond simple awareness and prioritize regular screenings to catch this disease when it is most treatable.

🔬 What does “early detection” really mean?

Breast cancer stages 0, 1, and 2 are classified as early stages because the tumor is small and has limited or no spread beyond the breast.

Detecting cancer at these stages allows for timely treatment, higher survival rates, and significantly better outcomes.💙

According to WHO, the 5-year survival rate for breast cancer exceeds 90% in high-income countries, but drops to 66% in India and 40% in South Africa.

This means only two-thirds of Indian women survive breast cancer, highlighting how early detection can save more lives.

⚠️ What are the “advanced stages” of breast cancer?

Breast cancer stages 3 and 4 are classified as advanced because the disease has spread - in stage 3 to nearby tissues and lymph nodes, and in stage 4 to distant organs such as the lungs, liver, bones, or brain.

At these stages, treatment is more complex, but advances in therapy can still help manage the disease and improve quality of life.🌸
