Because when you look back at your life, there's a strong possibility that you won't remember working out 5 times a week, meticulously eating in December.

But you'll remember the laughter you had & the yummy food you ate.

LIVE YOUR LIFE! 💯

💗 Some moments arrive on very few occasions. Being present with the ones you love during important times (like Christmas, New Year, Pongal) may include eating more food, foregoing exercise, and getting drunk with empty calories, all adding upto the temporary detriment of your fitness goal, but not to the moments you cherish most when you recall the meaningful events in your life. Thus, you can enrich your life by including such moments and experiencing them fully without worries.✨

Adherence to your fitness goal is important. But sacrificing optimal progress for a couple of days in order to create memories that mean more is called LIVING YOUR LIFE! ❤️

Because progress can wait, but more meaningful moments cannot. So recognise them, for God's sake, live them.💃

📌Convenience and ultra processed foods have become so normalised and have replaced foods that quite literally we have ate for 1000s of years - you're not looked at funny for NOT having an ultra processed diet.🍟🧃🍪🍩🍞🥫

💉💊🩹 Over 20 % of Indians suffer from chronic diseases; as a result we handout medication like candy to put a band-aid on the problem. Then we give out more medication to counteract the side effects of the first...and it keeps on going making you a PATIENT for life.🤷

🎯 And most of what we eat today didn't exist 50 years ago and if it did, i can promise you the use of new pesticides, GMOs, artificial sweeteners, etc has changed the ingredients and therefore the product.🤦

This was one of my Navratra fasts'.

💥Successfully completed 51 hour water-fast!
No, absolutely not for inch-loss/weightloss/fat-loss; but majorly for health and spiritual purposes. Fasting is beyond weight loss.💯

DID YOU KNOW❓ Fasting for 48 hours increases BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) is like miracle grow for your brain. It's an important protein that plays a key role in making new brain cells as well as improving the connection between existing brain cells.

✅ Guess which FAST increases the production of BDNF 3.5x the normal amount? A 48-hour fast. If you're 48-hour fasting, you are doing great. Just think of all the BDNF you are creating right now! 💪

🎯 AUTOPHAGY (begins at 24 hours of fasting)- Fasting is one of the most effective ways of stimulating this healing autophagy process. Autophagy is a process that helps cells "take out the garbage," removing damaged cells in order to generate newer, healthier cells.

🔥 Ketones and fasting - Ketones are energy molecules created by the liver from the break down of stored body fat. When we FAST or follow a low-carb diet our blood sugar and insulin levels LOWER. Vrat Ahar includes one wholesome platter for the day, all in small portions -
- Sago wada
- Sago alu kichidi
- Potato curry
- Boiled peanut sundal
- Green chutney (not in picture)
- Ajwain flavored chillies
- Fruit with curd, apple, salad
- Chia seeds n mint infused water

While Sambar is the most wholesome one pot n therapeutic meal in itself, we south Indians include wide variety of vegetables, coconuts, loads of varieties of fermented foods like idli dosa, rice ganji, moreover south Indian food includes more of sea foods n lesser usage of ghee unlike North where meats, lamb are used more especially smoked grilled, with more usage of ghee butter, more you grill more it becomes carcinogenic , just can't only blame wheat, as wheat is one of the major staples across the globe after rice.
