Knowing your Prakriti is one thing. Understanding what it means for your everyday food choices is another.

In this episode of Know Your Prakriti, Know Your Plan, Kawal Yogi decodes a Vata–Pitta Prakriti, with Vata being dominant, and explains how this may influence digestive tendencies and food choices.

- What should be included more often?
- What should be completely avoided?
- And most importantly — why?
-
Because when it comes to food, the question isn’t just “Is this healthy?”

It’s also: Is it right for your Prakriti?

Watch the full video as Kawal Yogi shares what to eat, what to avoid and the reasoning behind it. 🌿

AUM is more than a sound. It is a simple practice of turning your attention inward.

Research has explored the effects of AUM chanting on the body’s relaxation response, including changes in autonomic activity and heart-rate variability. While research is still evolving, the practice has long been used in yoga to cultivate awareness, steadiness and inner calm.

And the best part? You don’t need a lot of time to make it part of your day.

As our founder Sri Kawaljeet Singh Yogi recommends:
🌅 In the morning - when you wake up
🌙 At night - before you sleep
🧘 During yoga -!at the beginning and end of your practice

Simply sit comfortably and softly chant AUM 3–5 times, keeping your focus on your inner body and self.

Why does knowing your Prakriti matter?

In Ayurveda, Prakriti is your individual constitution and it forms the basis for a more personalised approach to food, lifestyle and wellbeing.

Research is now exploring how Prakriti may relate to differences in metabolism, physiology and even the gut microbiome, opening interesting conversations around personalised nutrition.

In this episode of Know Your Prakriti, Know Your Plan, we look at one individual’s Prakriti and the foods and drinks that may be better suited to it.

Watch the full video to find out what to eat, what to avoid, and why your Prakriti matters.

Freedom is not just about breaking free from what holds us back. It is also about finding the balance to live with greater awareness, strength and peace.

This Independence Day, let yoga be your journey towards freedom - from unhealthy habits, unnecessary stress and thoughts that disturb your inner balance.

And as we celebrate, we’re sharing a little glimpse of our Independence Day celebration with our young ones - full of colours, creativity, smiles and the spirit of freedom. 🇮🇳✨

Breathe. Move. Let go. Be free. 🧘‍♀️

I hear the same thing from almost everyone I meet: “Once life slows down, I’ll finally feel calm.”

The work, the deadlines, the running around - the belief is always that peace is waiting on the other side of all of it.

These photos are from Shanghai. Horns, crowds, glass towers as far as you can see. Not a quiet place by any measure. And yet, standing there at sunrise, I felt exactly what I feel in the Himalayas.

That morning reminded me of something I try to teach every student: the calm you’re chasing isn’t hiding in a better location or a freer schedule. You’ve been carrying it the whole time.

So don’t wait for the noise to stop. It won’t. Just come back to your breath - right here, in the middle of everything.

Try it now. One slow breath. 🙏

The best way to know what yoga is doing for a child? Ask the child. 💛

In their own words, our young practitioners share what they enjoy, what they’ve learnt, and how yoga has become a part of their everyday lives.

Real experiences. Honest little voices. A journey that goes beyond the mat.
Listen to what they have to say. 🧘‍♀️

There are people who come to yoga for a few weeks… and then there are people who make it a part of their life.

Viren has been coming to Parma Yoga for years, and that’s what makes his journey so special.

With every class, yoga becomes a little more than a practice. It brings greater awareness, steadiness, balance, and a calmer way of moving through life.

The guidance of a Guru plays a beautiful role in this journey. Beyond teaching asanas, a Guru nurtures discipline, mindfulness, and values that naturally become a part of everyday living. Sri Kawaljeet Singh Yogi

Yoga is a way of life, one that continues long after the session is over.

Thank you, Viren, for being a part of the Parma Yoga family and for trusting the journey. Your consistency is a reminder that meaningful transformation grows with patience, practice, and the right guidance.
