Did you know beetroots aren’t the best food for iron deficiency?
Beetroots are healthy and packed with nutrients — but the iron they contain is non-heme iron, which our bodies don’t absorb very efficiently.
If you want to boost your iron levels, focus more on heme iron sources like lean red meat, chicken, or fish 🍗🐟🥩
Plant-based foods like lentils, chickpeas, and spinach are still helpful 🌿 — just pair them with vitamin C foods such as lemon, oranges or bell peppers 🍋🍊🫑 to improve absorption.
