در زمینه توليد داروي تمام شده، شركت فاران علاوه بر خط توليد محلول همودياليز، از بهمن ماه سال ۹۱ مبادرت به احداث خط توليد انواع جامدات (قرص) به ظرفيت صد و پنجاه میلیون قرص در سال نموده كه با تلاش و كوشش دست اندركاران به بهره برداري رسيده است. به عنوان اولين محصول، قرص بوپرنورفين زير زباني دو ميلي گرم توليد شد كه ماده اولیه آن يعني بوپرنورفين هيدروكلرايد نيز توليد بخش API همين شركت مي‌باشد. اين خط كاملا" مطابق استانداردهاي جهاني است و كليه مجوزهاي لازم نظير گواهی GMP را از وزارت بهداشت اخذ كرده است. فرمهای دیگر قرص بوپرنورفین و همچنین اکسی کدون، نالوکسان، استامینوفن- اکسی کدون، فنتانیل و متادون نیز در برنامه تولید قرار دارند و بتدریج به بازار دارویی عرضه خواهند شد.

در بخش LVHV با بهره‌گيري از مهارت و دانش اساتيد خبره در هلدينگ، تحت قالب شركت هستي آريا شيمي، اين شركت قادر به توليد داروهاي بسيار حساس با تكنولوژي بالا می باشد. به‌ عنوان مثال قادر به تولید ماده اوليه بوپرنورفين هيدروكلرايد گرديده است. قرص بوپرنورفين به ‌عنوان جايگزين قرص متادون مورد استفاده قرار مي‌گيرد و علاوه بر اثر بخشي بهتر، داراي مزاياي بسياري نسبت به متادون، از جمله عدم ايجاد اعتياد مي‌باشد. در حال حاضر كليه شركت‌هاي داخلي مجاز به تولید بوپرنورفین، از محصول توليد شده در شرکت داروسازی فاران شیمی استفاده مي‌كنند و همچنين با توجه به كيفيت بسيار بالاي آن امكان صادرات به كشورهاي ديگر نيز مهيا مي‌باشد. همچنين شركت مبادرت به احداث خط استحصال فرآورده‌هاي اپيوم نمود. با راه‌اندازي اين خط زير شاخه‌هاي اپيوم استخراج و پس از چندین مرحله خالص سازی، در اتاق‌هاي تميز، فرآوري و بسته‌ بندي مي‌گردند. از جمله فرآورده‌هاي اين خط مي‌توان به تبائين، كدئين، مورفين، نوسكاپين و پاپاورين اشاره نمود. اين مواد جزء فرآورده‌هاي بسيار حساس و تحت كنترل در دنيا مي‌باشند.

Methadone is currently the recommended treatment for opioid-addicted pregnant women, and when properly used, is considered relatively safe for the fetus. However, it is associated with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) — a cluster of symptoms stemming from opioid withdrawal in the newborn — often requiring medical treatment and extended hospital stays. Buprenorphine is a more recently approved medication for treating opioid addiction, but less is known about its effects in pregnant women and their babies. This study found that, compared to methadone, Buprenorphine resulted in similar maternal and fetal outcomes, yet had lower severity of NAS symptoms, thus requiring less medication (1.1 versus 10.4 milligrams) and less time in the hospital for their babies (10 versus 17.5 days).

Buprenorphine is a newer medication, approved by the FDA in 2002, for the treatment of opioid addiction in non-pregnant patients. It has weaker opioid effects than methadone and is less likely to produce overdose. Buprenorphine also produces a lower level of physical dependence, so patients who discontinue the medication generally have fewer withdrawal symptoms than individuals who stop taking methadone. Buprenorphine can be prescribed to treat opioid addiction in the privacy of a certified physician's office.

Babies born to women addicted to opioids are better when their mothers are treated with either the addiction medication Buprenorphine or methadone than babies whose mothers are not treated at all. In this comparative effectiveness trial, Buprenorphine was found to be superior to methadone in reducing withdrawal symptoms in the newborns, according to a recent study funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a component of the National Institutes of Health. The study, conducted by a multi-disciplinary team of researchers from North America and Europe, was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Intolerance to other strong opioids ( addiction to opioids

Buprenorphine is an agonist-antagonist opioid analgesic. This means that, although Buprenorphine is an opioid, it can produce typical opioid antagonist effects. At low doses Buprenorphine produces sufficient agonist effect to enable opioid-addicted individuals to discontinue the misuse of opioids without experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
