What a fantastic trip to Mýri! A local guide (Ari), a place I’d never been before, and even one life saved (check comments to see more). That’s the best way to sum up this excursion, organized as a collaborative project between Bjarnanesprestakall and the Austur-Skaftfellingar Hiking Association.

The only thing missing was a place for a freezing cold plunge 😉.

Dream weather🌞, the forest, an amazing crew, and the whole day topped off with a cold plunge😁 surrounded by the beautiful Haukafell.

This is a place that always recharges my batteries to the fullest.⚡️ You ask why?

It has such incredibly good energy. Forests, a river, waterfalls, and breathtaking views of the surrounding area. There’s still so much more to explore there.

I keep discovering something new, including wonderful people.🙋‍♂️🙋

Decision made. A beautiful little forest, a wonderful area, clear and easy-to-follow trails, and at the end of our hike, the chance to sign the notebook and leave our mark.

Haukafell is a forestry project established in 1985. Since then, the forest has grown and thrived, now providing excellent shelter for the lower-growing vegetation that adorns the area primarily berry bushes that bear fruit in August.

That’s exactly what the first trip in our series looked like. Exciting hike to the most beautiful places around Höfn. The weather was on our side,🌞 those who wanted could enjoy an icy dip,🥶 and the views amazed everyone.🤩

Place that we visited:
Grjótárgljúfur is exceptionally beautiful, with many rock formations, waterfalls, and a lovely stone arch.

We’re meeting today at 12:00 in the parking lot in front of the swimming pool.🏝

Next we will drive about 15 minutes to the starting point of the hike. I have 3 seats available in my car.🚙

I’m counting on you and your cars as well so that everyone can get a ride.😁 Of course, we’ll share the transportation costs.⛽️
