🚀 Did you know that wounds heal more slowly in space?

During 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸, we're looking beyond Earth to explore an unexpected connection between space research and human health.

Through Suture in Space, an experiment conducted aboard the International Space Station (ISS), researchers investigated how microgravity affects wound healing in human tissues.

The findings revealed alterations in cellular activity and the extracellular matrix, providing new insights into the mechanisms of tissue repair under extreme conditions.

ASAcampus, the Joint Laboratory between ASA’s Research Division and the Department of Experimental Biomedical and Clinical Science of the University of Florence, played a key role in this international research project.
