Meet Mickey. 🐾 🩵

He is Tabatha’s “boyfriend”. They live a few houses from each other, share biscuits, play amongst the trees below the town and occasionally a little nose touching.

While the sun was shining, warming up the morning after a chilly night Mr Mickey was taking full advantage.

Festive of the cow. 🐄

Sunday Marco and I went to Ottiglio about 20 minutes from Camagna.
Another beautiful hillside community.
From farming equipment, production of honey, local talented craftsmanship, w**e, b**r, wood fired pizza, even saffron. Fantastic

Casale Monferrato had their Annual Vino festival “ Festa del Vino 2026” over the past 2 weekends.
All the food stalls were from surrounding towns “Pro Loco’s”

What is a Pro Loco. A Pro Loco is a local, voluntary, non-profit civic association dedicated to promoting and developing the tourism, culture, history, and social life of a specific town, village, or neighbourhood.
The food is specific for that town. There was so much variety.

Then in the middle was w**e distilleries show casing fantastic reds, white and ch*****ne. Buying buy the bottle.

The night we went was mainly young people. Think Oktoberfest but with vino.

Milan is just over 1 hour from Camagna. On this perfect day you can see the busy flight path.

The third photo if you look carefully you can see 3 planes flying close to each other.

The Strambio house!!!
I had to do a bit of internet digging in this one. The street information sign is almost unreadable. But this is what I think it says.
74 Via Martire Giambone, you will find the house was inhabited by the Strambio family. Its facade is decorated with the faces of historical figures from Risorgimento Unification Movement.

What is Risorgimento… it means resurgence.

What is Risorgimento Unification Movement…. It was a pivotal movement in the 19th Century, starting around 1815 to 1871. That led the consolidation of various States and Territories on the Italian Peninsula into a single Nation.

What are the names of those faces….. I don’t know. I am not sure if there is one or more Strambio’s up there or why they are displayed in the Strambio house.

If information comes on who these are I will add the information on their respective photos.

There was mention of Alessandro Strambio who authored an important early volume on local history titled “ Camagna notizie storiche “ published in 1891 but I would assume given how old this publication is probably makes it near impossible to locate. I could not find it on the internet and if it’s still in paper form translating it would be a challenge.

Where are these people in our family line…. Who knows.

Dinner at a beautiful restaurant in Cuccaro Monferrato the small town where Christopher Columbus was born. The food was a little more expensive but fantastic. It is also a BnB!
The antiques that are scattered around the place are amazing. From clogs, snow sleds, butter buckets and grape picking back packs, even a piano.

This little guy gets always out and enjoys a day of adventure.
I call him chewy like chewbacca from star wars 🤣. He little teeth and direction of the fur on his little legs reminds me of chewbacca catching the breeze 🤣 so cute
