In its latest article, the Italian Rare Disease Observatory (O.Ma.R.) highlights AIFA's approval of reimbursement for polyhexanide, the first and only therapy specifically approved for Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK) in Italy, marking an important step forward for patients and clinicians.

Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK) is an ultra-rare, serious corneal infection that can threaten vision and is associated with severe pain, photophobia, and inflammation.
