Tuscan Fitness Health Holidays in Tuscany The teacher training at Tuscan Fitness will be run by Peter Kaaberbol and assisted by Alix Sturgess.

Peter was one of the techers that helped Alix in her love of yoga and teaching. Peter has years of experience in both Yoga and Massage therapy and so is the perfect person for this Teacher Training. The 200 Hour TTC will include a portion of Thai massage so you will not only be certified as a yoga instructor but you will be able to incorprate massage into your healing practices. Have you ever noticed a sudden wave of emotion or a feeling of deep relief during a good stretch or a gentle yoga class? It is not a coincidence. Your body is incredibly clever at storing mental stress that you have not had the chance to process yet.

When we push down frustration, anxiety, or heavy work pressure, our deep muscles tend to tighten up to protect us. This usually happens around our shoulders and our hips.

Through slow, mindful movement and gentle stretching, we can safely open up these tight areas. It is a physical way to support your well-being, reminding us that we cannot truly look after the mind without involving the body too.

Wishing you a beautiful, sun-drenched solstice.

Today feels a little bit magical. It is the summer solstice, which means it is the longest day of light in the entire year. It also happens to be International Day of Yoga.

We love today because it is a wonderful reminder to simply stop what you are doing, step outside, and enjoy the sunshine. It is a day to celebrate the warmth of the season and the simple, grounding joy of moving our bodies exactly as they are.

No matter where you are in the world today, we hope you get to soak in the extra daylight and take a long, deep breath. Happy International Day of Yoga, everyone. We hope your day is filled with warmth, peace, and plenty of light.

Take a quick moment right now to notice how you are breathing. If you are sitting at your desk or feeling a bit rushed, your breath is probably quite shallow, only moving your upper chest and shoulders. This is often called vertical breathing, and it tells your body that you are under stress, keeping you stuck in fight or flight mode.

When guests join us on our retreats, one of the first things we focus on is resetting the breath. By consciously breathing deeply into your stomach and letting your ribs expand, you trigger a natural relaxation response. This lowers your heart rate instantly and tells your brain that it is completely safe to relax. It is a simple tool you can use anywhere to move away from survival mode and step into a state of deep, genuine rest.
