Blood Sugar Friendly “NOATS”! It does have a little bit of oats in it but it is mostly high fiber/protein ingredients that taste so good 😍
This recipe has helped me stay on track with my blood sugar balancing journey, keep my gut health in check with plenty of fiber, and enjoy a swap for a food I loved but was spiking my blood sugar - this one keeps it steady 🙌🏼
Many “healthy” breakfasts like oats, açaís bowls, protein smoothies, can contribute to blood sugar spikes after 1-2 hours. Which leads to afternoon crashes and cravings. Repeated spikes throughout the day also contribute to becoming pre diabetic. It’s important to start the day with high fiber and protein and not a high carb first meal 🥘
Recipe ✅
2 T steel cut oats
2 T chia seeds
1 T flax seed
1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
Generous dash cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2-1 tsp sugar free maple syrup
1/2 cup or more unsweetened almond milk
Blueberries
Combine well, cover and store overnight in fridge.
Top with more berries and crushed walnuts. Enjoy!
