In this work, entitled “L’aquilone dal lungo volo” 1965, Gastone Novelli creates a suspended space, where shapes and colours seem to elude any precise definition. Nothing appears definitively complete.
The surface of the canvas thus becomes a place of freedom, where the painting does not describe but suggests. Subtle shades interact with more intense accents, whilst light lines guide the eye in a continuous movement, just like the long flight evoked by the title.
The work bears witness to Novelli’s interest in an essential language, capable of evoking images and sensations without ever describing them directly.

In the 1960s, Gastone Novelli developed a unique visual language in which painting, writing and drawing merge into an open and poetic visual tapestry.
In works such as “Sull’ imitazione” (1962), letters, symbols, grids and iconic fragments are arranged across the surface like elements of a personal alphabet, inviting the viewer to a free and multi-layered interpretation.
The year 1962 marked a crucial moment in his artistic development, characterised by a profound reflection on language and its archetypes, which was destined to become the core of his mature production.

For New York, we are delighted to present this work by Alighiero Boetti, dated 1989.
A vibrant interweaving of letters, colours and words, including the Arabic-Persian alphabet, animated this famous embroidery by Boetti.
The inscriptions reflect the dialogue between cultures and languages that runs through his entire body of work.
The piece combines geometric rigour and compositional freedom in a surface rich in rhythm and meaning.

At New York, we will be presenting this work by Andy Warhol entitled “Dollar Sign”.
Andy Warhol transforms a simple, everyday symbol into a work of art brimming with energy.
The bold brushstrokes, the layered colours and the almost “gritty” effect bring the dollar sign to life.
Warhol uses money not only as a recognisable image, but also as a symbol of modern society, success and consumerism

We are delighted to present, at New York, this stunning work by Tom Wesselmann, one of the leading figures of American Pop Art, who revolutionised the still life genre with his bold and contemporary works.
In his series of still lifes, everyday objects become powerful, essential and highly stylised images.
The colours are flat and bright, the outlines sharp, the forms simplified: everything contributes to creating an immediate and visually striking composition.
Behind this apparent simplicity lies a reflection on consumer society and advertising aesthetics.
