Oltre ogni "metodo": la persona al primo posto:

Nell'ambito della riabilitazione e dell'abilitazione, si tende spesso a cercare il metodo giusto: un modello o un protocollo da seguire.

Tuttavia, nessun metodo è in grado di cogliere appieno la complessità e l'unicità di una persona.

La pratica clinica non consiste nell'applicare tecniche in modo meccanico. Si tratta invece di osservare, interpretare, adattare e prendere decisioni consapevoli in base alla persona che abbiamo di fronte.

Gli approcci basati sulle evidenze offrono quadri di riferimento preziosi, ma non dovrebbero mai sostituire il RAGIONAMENTO CLINICO.

Quando un intervento non funziona, non dobbiamo chiederci solo come far sì che la persona vi si adatti.

Dobbiamo chiederci anche:

Cosa occorre modificare nell'intervento?

La riabilitazione è un processo DINAMICO, plasmato dalla persona, dalla relazione, dal contesto e da una costante osservazione clinica.

La persona non deve mai doversi adattare al metodo.

Il metodo deve rimanere sufficientemente flessibile da adattarsi alla persona.
