✨ PSA to everyone in my contacts. The answer is yes. The only question is where.

Three Pilates myths I’d love to retire:

“It’s only for women.” Joseph Pilates was a man — and he built the method on athletes, boxers, and dancers. The “women’s workout” framing is recent. The work was always for everyone.

“Too much focus on form stifles the movement.” Form is the movement. Good cueing creates freedom inside the structure. Loose form isn’t more natural — it’s just less effective.

“Pilates makes you thin, toned, long, and lean.” It makes you stronger, more aligned, more aware, and less injured. Aesthetics are a side effect. Longevity is the point.

That’s the work I teach in my digital studio. New mat classes every month — classical method, full corrections, taught properly. Link in bio. ✨

Apparently “once in a lifetime” is a quarterly thing for me. I don’t make the rules. I just keep booking the flights.

25 years in, I’m still a student. I think that’s the whole thing.

The teachers whose cueing works — who can read a body from across the room — never stopped studying. They take workshops. They go back to their teachers’ teachers. They sit in the back of someone else’s class.

The deeper you go into the work, the more there is to learn. Always.

✨ Summer in Paris.

Long lunches, blooming streets, cafés spilling onto the sidewalk. If you’ve been thinking about going, this is the season for it.

The Paris diet: espresso in the morning, pastries between museums, wine with whoever’s at the next table. ☕ 🍷 🥐

20,000 steps a day, and somehow you’ve never felt better.

I love the reformer — it’s a powerful piece of equipment, and it’s bringing more people to the Pilates method than ever.

But it’s one piece of apparatus in a system. Joseph Pilates designed the reformer alongside the Cadillac (Trapeze Table), the Wunda Chair, the Ladder Barrel, the Magic Circle, and — most foundationally — the mat.

Each piece exists for a reason. The reformer’s springs assist some movements and resist others. The mat strips that assistance away and asks your body to do the work on its own. The Cadillac supports and opens the spine. The chair builds power. None of them is the workout. They’re the tools.

When someone tells me they “only do reformer Pilates,” what I hear is that they’ve found their favorite piece of equipment.

That’s wonderful. But the depth of the practice — the cueing, the breath, the alignment, the way it carries into the rest of how you move — lives in the method. Not the machine.

If you want to learn the method that will follow you wherever you go, no matter what equipment you have — my Digital Studio is where I teach it. Link in bio. ✨
