Your cycle is not isolated to your reproductive system.
It reflects the health and communication of the entire body.

The menstrual cycle is one of the body’s clearest monthly feedback systems like your monthly body’s report card 😉

What we experience each cycle can offer important insight into overall health.

Because the menstrual cycle involves the brain, hormones, metabolism, and nervous system — symptoms are rarely “just hormonal.”

Every phase reflects communication between multiple systems in the body therefore…

When the body is under stress, depleted, inflamed, or overwhelmed, the cycle often responds too in signs and symptoms

Due to the menstrual cycle being so deeply connected to overall wellbeing — this is why is it often referred to as the fifth vital sign.

Because our hormones do not work alone.
Our menstrual cycle reflects communication between the brain, ovaries, nervous system, metabolism, and environment.

Standing on top of Mt Tomaree today, I couldn’t help but think about how powerful women really are!

Not because we do it all perfectly.
But because we keep climbing anyway.

Through exhaustion.
Through heartbreak.
Through self-doubt.
Through seasons that try to soften us and seasons that ask us to rise.

Women carry so much — and still somehow continue showing up with love, strength, tenderness, and resilience.

Today I’m feeling deeply grateful for the women in my life who remind me what courage looks like. The women who climb mountains beside us, and the women who quietly help us believe we can climb our own.

Tag a woman who inspires you 🤍
The one who keeps rising.
The one who makes others feel stronger.
The one whose presence changes a room.

Let’s remind the women around us just how powerful they truly are

This kiss? It’s medicine of a different kind ✨🙏🏻

One of the most powerful (and free) things we can do for our kids is connect through safe, loving touch.

Why? Because affectionate connection — cuddles, hugs, kisses, reading together, gentle back rubs — helps activate oxytocin, often called the “bonding” or “love” hormone.

Oxytocin supports calm, trust, connection and emotional regulation.

Research also links nurturing touch to healthier stress responses and resilience in children.

🧠 One fascinating study found that babies older than 4 months had a calming physiological response (heart rate slowing) during a parent’s hug — but not the same response with a stranger’s hug.

In other words: your presence literally helps regulate their nervous system.

Practical ways I use and are proven to “top up” your child’s oxytocin cup:

✨ A 20-second cuddle before school
✨ Eye contact + full attention for 2 minutes
✨ Reading side-by-side
✨ Hair brushing, hand holding
✨ Laughing together (even silly dancing in the kitchen counts)
✨ “I’m so glad you’re mine” moments

We spend so much time worrying about doing enough for our kids… but science keeps reminding us: feeling safe, seen and deeply loved matters more than we realise. 🤍

You got this mama 🤎 and they have their whole world because of you 🤗

Welcome, I’m Jodie- Paediatric and Women’s health Naturopath ( BHSc) Podcast host, Mum of two beautiful girls and Wife to my amazing Husband Kevin.

You’ll find me enjoying time with my family at the beach or in nature, chatting with soul sisters over coffee, snuggled up with a herbal tea reading a book, walks by the water or supporting the beauties families and women I’m so grateful to work alongside everyday.

My approach blends evidence based care with ancient wisdom honouring the body and its innate wisdom to heal when given the right support.

Honouring all mother energy today and those who embody it. For those with us, and those no longer 🙏🏻🩷

Incredibly blessed to have carried my two angels who I so fortunately get to mother daily and to have a mother still with me to share my mothering journey with 🙏🏻🩷

Sending love and especially to those who carry a heavier heart today.

Change starts with us ….
I’m noticing so much focus on what is outward and what is needed to change.

Unfortunately we can’t control too much that is outside us.

Healing happens with US first.

We can however :
Be the change,
Be the example

Recent reports in the media have shone the light on how toxic pesticides are sprayed on our fruit and veggies in particular focus had been on Australian berries.

For some, it’s old news but I’ve had my inbox full of concerns and I wanted to create a post to share what we can do.

It’s not all doom and gloom and there are things we can do to make healthy choices to support our bodies.

Knowledge is power and we as consumers can make powerful choices.

May we encourage safe consumption of our food source, may we support our local farmers and most of all enjoy our freshly grown food and have our bodies thrive!

It’s been a while since I’ve hand blended some herbal tea other than for close family and friends.

It felt good to be creative with the knowledge of medicinal benefits to many beautiful women. Also grateful for small batches only 😝🤪

Herbal tea is such a beautiful and gentle way of adding natures medicine into your day.

Not only is it a great way to add nourishment to the body but also the nervous system and mind.

Our family as a ritual enjoys an evening tea after dinner and we use it as an anchor to discuss our daily;

Highs- what we loved about the day

Our Lows- what we didn’t like so much

Our buffalo- what we feel to share, maybe something random or surprising that happened.

Using this structure prompts/ encourages the girls to share with us what they desire to tell us about their day.

When not drinking simple *mint *chamomile picked herbs from the garden we choose:

- I love how much love Ash puts into her tea literally from hand planting, growing, picking and then hand blending healing in a cup!

And

beautifully crafted, elegant, and healing like Kate the founder.

It’s the little things that can turn a basic experience to luxurious ❤️🙏😍🌷

Do you have any daily rituals or practices that you have ‘upgraded’ to be luxurious?

I’d love to hear about them ❤️🌷🙏

Fairy 🧚‍♀️ pancakes for my mini 🐝‘s
My daughters 5 and 3 yrs love pink 💕 pancakes 💖 so I take advantage of this love and make sure I jam pack as much nutrient dense goodness in them as I can🙏

TIP: You can also see they get involved by making a flower pattern with them as I cook them. I didn’t 📷 capture the 🥒 flower stem which came after 😜 but a wonderful way to have more compliance in eating is to get them involved in the process of making their food or plating it up👌🏻

RECIPE:
Base= 4 eggs
2 TBsp of almond meal
1 banana

Trimmings: you can add anything else you feel to.

Here are my go to add in’s ( I choose 3 max. which always includes a green of some sort 😜)

❤️1/4 zucchini grated
❤️handful of spinach- blended
❤️foraged for you powder
❤️powdered grass fed (organic) liver capsules- blended
❤️organic beetroot powder
❤️grass fed collagen powder
❤️Good quality nut butter

Stick blend well- consistency is like that of normal pancake mix 👌🏻
Cook in good quality butter and voilà ❤️

Recipe feeds my hungry girls with a few left over for me or snacks for outings.

Can you guess what I added in today?

Enjoy 😋
