The world's oldest tattoo parlor wasn't a shop—it was a grave in Tennessee. 🖋️ Archaeologists have confirmed that a set of 5,520-year-old turkey bone tools are the oldest known tattooing kit on Earth, rewriting the history of human self-expression.

Found alongside a man buried millennia ago, these sharpened bones were his professional tools. Microscopic analysis revealed tell-tale wear patterns and traces of red and black pigment, proving they were used to mark skin with lasting ink. This discovery pushes the evidence for tattooing in North back over a thousand years and provides the first complete toolkit from such an ancient artist.

It's a profound reminder that the human desire to tell stories, show status, and adorn our bodies is an ancient, sophisticated craft. Long before written language, people were writing their identities directly onto their skin.

Strange Fact: Turkey leg bones were the perfect choice—their natural hollow structure acts like a reservoir, holding pigment perfectly for tattooing.
