EPUAP 2026 delivered.

Three days of meaningful conversations, world-leading research, and real momentum in pressure injury prevention. It was exactly the kind of event that reminds us why this work matters.

Here are some highlights from our time in Dublin, swipe to see what we got up to.

It’s October, which means it’s Wound Hygiene Month.

“Wound Hygiene has genuinely changed the way I think about wound care - and this month, we're dedicating our social channels to it.” - Dale Copson

Here's what to expect over the coming weeks:

👉 A plain-English explainer on biofilm - what it is and why it matters
👉 A deep dive into each of the 4 steps: Cleanse, Debride, Treat, and Dress
👉 A look at the Wound Hygiene app and how it can support your practice
👉 Myth vs reality - we're busting some common wound care misconceptions

Whether you're new to Wound Hygiene or already embedding it in practice, there'll be something for you.

Follow this page so you don't miss a thing - and if there's a specific question you'd love us to answer this month, drop it in the comments below. We'll do our best to address it in the series.

Wound Hygiene isn't a trend. It's a global movement - and it's growing. ❤️‍🩹

Since the first international consensus document in 2020, the four-step Wound Hygiene protocol - Cleanse, Debride, Refashion, Dress - has been adopted by clinicians around the world as a simple, repeatable way to tackle the barriers to healing and give hard-to-heal wounds the best possible chance.¹

Real-world data shows that adopting the Wound Hygiene protocol is associated with improved outcomes for patients with hard-to-heal wounds.²

From tissue viability specialists to community nurses and GPs, more and more of you are embedding Wound Hygiene into everyday practice - because it works at every skill level, in every setting.¹

This October, we're celebrating that community. And we'd love you to be part of it.

👉 Already using Wound Hygiene in your practice? Tell us where you're joining us from in the comments.

Day two of EPUAP 2026 in Dublin and today's session gets to the heart of what matters most: better outcomes in pressure injury prevention.

Join us at 13:30 for the Convatec symposium: Is It Time to Redefine Prevention? Challenging Conventional Dressing Design in Pressure Injury Prevention

Our expert panel will be challenging conventional dressing design in pressure injury prevention, sharing new clinical evidence and practical insights.

The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel Congress opens in Dublin this week, and the Convatec team is ready.

Across three days, you’ll find us at Stand 14, where you can see ConvaFoam™ Border up close, explore the science behind its triple barrier design, and speak with our clinical team about what prevention-first care looks like in practice.

Don’t miss our symposium at 13:30 IST (UTC+1) on Thursday 10 September, where a panel of leading experts will share new clinical evidence on dressing design and pressure injury prevention.

Join our session "Is It Time to Redefine Prevention? Challenging Conventional Dressing Design in Pressure Injury Prevention" with speakers Professor Amit Gefen and Jansy Williams, RN, BSc, MSc, chaired by Professor Zena Moore.

Whether you’re here for the sessions, the science, or to reconnect with colleagues in wound care, we’d love to see you.

Friction. Shear. Microclimate. These three forces are recognised in clinical guidelines as central to how and why pressure injuries develop¹, and they’re at the heart of what we’ll be discussing at EPUAP 2026 in Dublin.

Get any one of them wrong, and skin integrity is put at risk: friction as skin moves against a surface, shear as underlying tissue layers move against each other, and microclimate as heat and moisture build at the skin’s surface. Understanding how the three interact isn’t just theory. It shapes real decisions, from repositioning protocols to support surface and dressing selection.

Ahead of the congress, we’re sharing the evidence base behind ConvaFoam™ Border’s triple barrier design, and why addressing all three risk factors, not just one, matters for the patients in your care.

Join us at EPUAP, 9–11 September, Dublin. More on the science behind Border next week.

26/08/2026

The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel Congress is one of the most important moments in the pressure injury prevention calendar, and this year, Convatec is bringing new thinking to the conversation.

From 9–11 September in Dublin, our team will be sharing new evidence behind ConvaFoam™ Border, exploring how foam dressing design can help address the three forces every pressure injury risk assessment has to reckon with: friction, shear and microclimate¹.

We’ll also be hosting a symposium on 10 September, bringing together a panel of leading experts to share new clinical evidence and practical insights on prevention-first care.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks for more on what we’ll be discussing, demonstrating, and exploring at the congress.

Follow our page and join us in Dublin, 9–11 September.

We've recently opened a newly refurbished area of our laboratories at the Convatec Deeside manufacturing site.

The updated space supports laboratory activities carried out alongside manufacturing operations, while making better use of existing facilities and providing an improved working environment for our teams.

Thank you to everyone involved in bringing the project to completion and supporting the high standards of quality our customers and people living with chronic conditions rely on.

Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) don’t just have a high infection risk, a high recurrence rate, and a strong link to amputation — their presence signals a mortality risk up to 2.5× compared to persons with diabetes without DFUs.¹-⁵

However, the seriousness of this risk often remains unspoken.

In Episode 4 of our DFU Spotlight Series, leading experts discuss:
- Why DFU risks are sometimes misunderstood
- What clinicians need to know about recurrence and mortality
- Where there is a lack of awareness for the complications of DFUs

🎥 Hear directly from the experts on why this issue warrants more attention.
