📣Goodbye PCOS, name change: the role of metabolism in Polycystic O***y Syndrome is officially recognized.
From PCOS to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) : with a publication in The Lancet, the international scientific community officially recognizes the systemic endocrine-metabolic nature of the syndrome.
For EGOI-PCOS, which has supported this vision for years, this represents an unprecedented international scientific recognition.
A change that opens new perspectives in the diagnosis, prevention, and clinical management of the syndrome.

Finally, a training event dedicated to women’s health at a stage of life that is often overlooked: adolescence. A delicate moment, when an accurate differential diagnosis is more important than ever.

This advanced training course placed the perspective of adolescent girls at the center of clinical practice for endocrinologists and gynecologists — to better understand, address, and prevent.

On our way back from Greece, where yesterday – October 2 – the first EGOI-PCOS School took place, hosted by Prof. Nikos Prapas and Prof. Ioannis Kalogiannidis.

Together with more than 50 gynecologists, we discussed the pathophysiology and classification of PCOS, treatment strategies, and the infertility often linked to the syndrome – aiming to provide both scientific excellence and practical clinical insights.

In the afternoon, during the society’s biennial meeting, we held a roundtable focused on the adolescent patient, a case where PCOS diagnosis is still complex and sometimes confusing.

Many thanks to all participants for contributing with experiences and knowledge.

📅 Next stop: 2027!
