Brickshell Brickshell is a little meditation building made of free-form brick vaults. We want to join contemporary and traditional element by extending the limits of both.

It's developed inside the workshop Morfogenesi Computazionale (Computational Morphogenesis) at the Department of Architecture and Design in the Politecnico di Torino, Italy. The course is held by Professor Mario Sassone in collaboration with architects Shaghayegh Rajabzadeh, Iasef MD Rian, Tomas Mendez and Andrea Rosada. The goal of the workshop is to develop a project of a little building: a meditation centre for the school of architecture in Torino. To do this we follow two different approaches: on one hand we decide to exploit a traditional technology of construction of brick masonry; on the other hand we want to apply digital design tools and form finding elements.
