📊 Case study: Investigating collagen injections on sun-induced skin aging
A clinical study published in the World Journal of Clinical Cases (2024) investigated type I collagen injections in participants showing visible signs of photoaging.
Skin-related parameters were assessed objectively using the DermaLab ultrasound probe.
Using high-frequency ultrasound, the study measured skin thickness and density and provided cross-sectional visualizations of the epidermis and dermis over the study period.🔬
📈 Results showed:
- Measured increases in dermal thickness
- Measured changes in skin density
The study highlights how objective ultrasound measurements can be used to document structural skin-related changes within a research setting.
