This time, FPT - Fluid Power Technology has played a key role in an extraordinary logistics infrastructure project, bringing its technology to one of Europe’s most strategic logistical hubs.

To replace the monumental drive drums at the very top of the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) New Kattwyk Railway Bridge lift towers, the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) orchestrated a massive operational effort in the heart of the Port of Hamburg.

The aerial views capture the sheer scale of the engineering challenge on the Elbe River, where Sarens deployed a powerful DEMAG CC3800 crawler crane with a 120-meter boom mounted on the twin barges Tom & Wim. This floating configuration safely executed the delicate dismantling of the 50-tonne legacy winches and the millimetric positioning of the new 80-tonne drive components. Simultaneously, securing and leveling these extreme structural loads required rock-solid reliability.

This critical safety and stabilization phase was fully supported by FPT - Fluid Power Technology, utilizing 4 Custom Made 600 ton - 600 mm stroke Hydraulic Cylinders with mechanical locking ring alongside high-pressure split flow synchronous pump.

The success of this project proves how the synergy between advanced civil engineering, strategic logistics, and high-pressure fluid power technology solves the most complex infrastructure challenges.

Outstanding collaboration by HPA, Sarens, and FPT to ensure the continuity and growth of Europe’s maritime and rail networks.

We are proud to have contributed to a project for CERN – the European Organization for Nuclear Research, one of the world’s leading research centres in particle physics.
FPT designed and manufactured high-pressure, heavy-duty 400-ton hydraulic cylinders and related hydraulic components for a specialized press used in the manufacturing and curing of superconducting magnet coils.
The hydraulic system operates at pressures up to 650 bar, delivering the high forces, precision and reliability required for this highly demanding application.

Strategic Infrastructure Node: Improvement of North Isa Town Junction, Kingdom of Bahrain 🇧🇭🛣️🌀

We FPT - Fluid Power Technology successfully supplied our heavy-duty 400-ton to Alghanim international for the complex lifting operations required to convert four Spherical Bridge Bearings on this critical infrastructure hub.

To guarantee absolute reliability under these challenging loads, all cylinders were fully tested and certified in the presence of TÜV, ensuring compliance with the highest international safety and performance standards before heading to the site.

The supply phase of this project unfolded under extraordinary circumstances as the outbreak of war directly impacted international shipping routes, turning a standard procurement into a high-stakes logistical challenge.
Despite geopolitical roadblocks and severe supply chain disruptions, we did not halt operations. Components were manufactured, secured, and delivered exactly where they were needed.
