The Goddess from the tree, lovingly blessing! ancient Egypt, c. 1400 B.C.
The goddess Hathor was believed to live in the trunk of the sacred sycamore tree. The sycamore symbolized the natural force that eternally gives birth to and nourishes all things. The sacred fruits and juice of the sycamore represented the gifts of Hathor, which brought spiritual strength and renewal.
The tree goddess were painted on Temples walls. The prayers were offered to her for fertility, healing, and guidance. Tree goddesses might also appear in the likeness of Isis or Nut, each embodying the maternal and life-giving aspects of the natural world and accompaniment to other worlds.
