From devastating trauma to innovative reconstruction.

This Testudo hermanni was attacked by dogs, suffering multiple fractures of the plastron and carapace, along with severe soft tissue injuries and detachment of the pectoral muscles from their normal insertion on the plastron.

Using the Esacrom piezoelectric surgical and medical unit, we were able to perform a complete regenerative and reconstructive approach:

🔹 Ultrasonic Wound Debridement (UWD) to decontaminate the wound, remove necrotic tissue, perform bone curettage and promote bacterial reduction through the antibacterial cavitation effect.

🔹 Piezoelectric bone surgery to smooth and reshape the fractured bone margins while preserving surrounding soft tissues.

🔹 Creation of precise osseous anchorage holes that allowed reattachment of the detached soft tissues and muscles to the newly reconstructed plastron margins.

What makes this technology unique is the ability to seamlessly switch from advanced wound management to highly precise bone surgery using dedicated settings and specialized inserts designed for countless clinical applications.

The versatility of piezoelectric technology continues to redefine what is possible in veterinary surgery.

The only real limit of this technology is our imagination.

Root remnants of maxillary incisors in cats.

For decades, these extractions have been considered among the most frustrating and time-consuming procedures in veterinary dentistry. Tiny roots, ankylosis, advanced replacement resorption, limited visibility, and a high risk of root fracture make manual extraction extremely challenging.

This is how it was done.
And this is how it can be done today.

Thanks to the Piezoelectric Extraction Technique (PET), developed by Dr. Francesco Paesano in collaboration with ESA Group, root retrieval becomes simpler, more predictable, more minimally invasive, and dramatically safer.

We are currently the only group in the world to have developed dedicated piezoelectric extraction kits and species-specific programs for dogs, cats, and small mammals.

PET is not simply a new instrument.
It is a completely different way of approaching dental extractions.

Less force.
Less trauma.
More precision.
More control.

No Force. Technology. Go Piezo.

What happened at the European Veterinary Dental Forum 2026 was truly something special.

For the first time, the Piezoelectric Extraction Technique I’ve been developing together with Esacrom over the last four years arrived at the most important veterinary dentistry and oral surgery event in Europe.

The response was incredible.
There was huge interest and enthusiasm from colleagues coming from Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, USA, Canada, Australia and all across Europe.

Some of the highest-level professionals in veterinary dentistry and maxillofacial surgery wanted to discover and experience this new approach to veterinary oral surgery.

Seeing so many colleagues excited about a philosophy based on precision, tissue respect and “No Force, Technology. GoPiezo.” was honestly emotional.

This was an amazing experience… and it truly feels like this is only the beginning.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
To all the colleagues who came to discover this reality for the first time.
And especially to all the colleagues already part of this growing international family, who believed in the technique and helped spread this revolution around the world. 🚀

Mandibular incisor root remnants in rabbits: one of the most delicate and frustrating procedures in exotic animal oral surgery.

In this video, I show an extraoral ventral approach for the extraction of retained mandibular incisor roots performed using a piezoelectric surgical technique.

The real revolution of this approach is that it is not based on force.
There is no need for traumatic movements with elevators or luxators, nor for aggressive bone removal with rotary burs.

Piezoelectric micro-vibrations allow us to:
• perform micrometric and highly precise osteotomies
• create a controlled cleavage plane around the root
• preserve as much mandibular bone as possible
• dramatically reduce the risk of iatrogenic mandibular fractures
• work in an extremely clean surgical field with outstanding visibility

All of this results in a more predictable, more ergonomic, and far less traumatic surgery for the patient.

In rabbits, where just a few millimeters can make the difference between surgical success and major complications, precision changes everything.

No Force, Technology.

The Piezo Revolution is growing faster than ever.

From Italy to Poland, Germany and beyond, more than 80 veterinary dentists worldwide are already using our revolutionary piezoelectric extraction technique in daily clinical practice.

And in just a few days, we will bring this revolution to the European Veterinary Dental Forum 2026.

This is not just another surgical technique.
This is a completely new philosophy of oral and maxillofacial surgery in dogs, cats and rabbits.

For the first time in the world, dedicated veterinary piezoelectric inserts have been specifically developed for:
• Dogs
• Cats
• Rabbits

Not adapted from human dentistry.
Designed specifically for veterinary anatomy and veterinary surgery.

More precise.
More predictable.
Less traumatic.
Bone preserving.
Soft tissue respecting.

From feline full-mouth extractions to ankylosed roots and complex oro-maxillofacial surgery, the Piezo Revolution is changing veterinary dentistry forever.

The international hands-on courses for 2026–2027 are officially open.

The question is simple:

Do you really want to stay behind while the future of veterinary oral surgery is already happening?

The Piezo Revolution is unstoppable.

Mandibular squamous cell carcinoma in a 6-year-old setter.
A major surgery: extended subtotal mandibulectomy performed through an intraoral approach.

But this is the message I really want to share: this surgery can be curative, and most importantly, it can restore real quality of life.

After healing, this dog went back to playing, chewing, being active, and enjoying a normal life again.

Modern maxillofacial surgery is not only about removing a tumor.
It is about doing it with precision, safety, and respect for the tissues.

In this case I used the Surgysonic piezoelectric platform by ESACROM, the only system offering more than 100 dedicated inserts for different surgical situations.
For the caudal mandibular osteotomy, an extremely long insert was essential to safely perform the resection around the mandibular angle through an intraoral approach.

The right technology does not replace surgical skill.
But it can completely change what becomes surgically possible.

Dental radiographs can reveal what's hiding below the gumline, but practice setup, equipment access, and client finances can all influence how consistently it's performed.

Is full-mouth radiography your standard, or does it depend on the case? Share your reasoning in the comments. 👇
