Hats off to Channel Islands Co-operative for unleashing the great big green light last night as a nod to The Great Big Green Week, a national annual campaign for community-based environmental action.

Today was Green Tuesday for us, at the Alder Collection with six of our trusty volunteers.

The weather was certainly better than yesterday and we got lots done, removing what seemed like infinite rhododendron, clearing around the show trees and doing a bit of access work.

Sadly we have no photos after Ben fell into a stream and had to dry out his phone. We shouldn't laugh but rest assured he's fine - he was probably no wetter than yesterday, in fact.

Thanks to the crew for their efforts today. We'll be back at Val for Green Thursday if you'd like to join us. If you do, remember the usual top car park is closed, so we park and meet at the bottom, below the dam and reservoir.
