Green pharmacy - making infused oils using herbs I’ve grown from organic seed, or sustainably foraged wild herbs, slowly over a lunar cycle, or sometimes on the stove top. I used two infused herbal oils
for this formula, Calendula and Wood betony, along with organic shea butter, and wild carrot oil.

Adding local beeswax from a beekeeper that produces raw honey, and then emulsifying over an ice bath with the water elements - hydrosols, a propolis tincture, a little aloe, a dash of California poppy flower essence made one sunny day last summer, and whisking continuously until the mixture firms up. Finally spooning into jars.

Artisanal skincare, using ingredients that are renowned powerful antioxidants, anti-aging and have regenerative properties.

I attended the first day of a Lottery-funded course at the Psychosynthesis Trust yesterday.

A very early start for me, but delighted to find a beautiful meadow garden at on arriving. Grounding for a little while, to land properly, before entering the Trust’s building near London Bridge.

What a welcome to the city!

I’ve been pretty unwell for the last two weeks, with what appeared to be the flu, unusually it floored me at times, with a feeling of being underwater…my sinus system, particularly in my head was congested affecting my hearing. As a craniosacral therapist I often worked with others to support the clearing of this system. I would have liked to receive that resource myself!

Nevertheless, as someone who has experienced long-term chronic fatigue with long periods of immobility, poor gut health and migraines (the latter mostly in the past now), I appear to have significant resilience to acute conditions, generally not being affected as badly as others. However, this episode really impacted my daily life, and the brain fog has been severe.

This morning I’m feeling a lot better. For the first time in two weeks I really enjoyed some food! I baked some miso sourdough on Friday, and had some with some amazing scrambled eggs, sourced from Nikki at La Croix Regeneration Centre
Nikki’s eggs are from heritage breeds, these ones mostly from Light Sussex. I have an enriched sourdough cake mixture fermenting today too, to be baked later this afternoon.

My training at is all about nutrition and gut health, creating nurturing, nutrient dense, real bread that supports health and wellbeing. I used flour from a local greengrocer, stores along with stoneground wholemeal, for the sourdough, replacing most of the salt with Pea Miso from Lovely flavour…I could actually taste and enjoy it today. My taste buds were impacted last week.

Thank you 🙏 for the availability of such great food supplies locally.

Wildflower beauty…in an orchard of aging Plum trees.

Enjoying some mother-daughter time observing a pond-watch. Probably not your average downtime activity, however we don’t fit in to the ordinary!

This orchard and meadow was once grazed by a Jersey dairy herd, until it was deemed that there were too many dairy herds…back in the noughties.

Funny how things come full circle…with regenerative agriculture advocating for traditional customs, like grazing cattle in a wildflower meadow to enrich their milk, with contemporary practices.

Becoming a smallholder, and taking on the stewardship of arable land that needed soil restoration, with no prior experience was a leap!

One year later…gratitude to .tacheron for collaborating, growing heritage grains on part of the total 5.5 acres. The majority of the field has just been sown with heritage grains for the this season.

Last July family matters called for my complete attention. So I left the rest of the field to do what nature does best…trusting in the process I am standing back to observe what is essentially a rewilding.

In a few weeks time I’m attending the .wakehurst National meadows conference. I’m excited to learn firsthand from experts on how to restore and nurture a wildflower meadow.

This journey will inform my studies and experiments with botanical blends of flour, following the guidance, knowledge, wisdom and research of and

As the saying goes, “when life throws you lemons, make lemonade!”

I’m keen to document this journey through creative pursuits…making cordage from natural fibres, creating a herbarium of wildflowers, making inks, dyes and paints from natural materials…and maybe even some miniature baskets.

And wildflowers to add to some botanical blends of flour

Very happy to be guiding a couple of walks in the Love Nature festival, today and Thursday, an annual event hosted by

This morning we were blessed by a perfect morning in Fern Valley, one of the most magical places in Jersey.

Sharing a little folklore, relating to the seasonal calendar, place and the plants and trees that inhabit the valley. From divination with Cleavers on Midsummer’s eve, to hanging out with Elder, watching the Fairy King with his entourage pass by, the stories from time past live on, symbolising an ancient mutual respect.

The paths were lined with pink flowers, 🌸 Herb Robert, Red campion, Foxgloves, often showing the way through the woods.

The woodland is thriving with new growth, we passed still-rooted fallen trees with verdant and abundant foliage, like the Birch we passed that is rooted in a bog, in winter it appears dead, but now tall shoots from the original tree reach for the sunlight and space.

Along the way. I pointed out herbs that have been used for hundreds of years, often used for particular ailments, but always with awareness that it’s also about the person not the condition.

We finished with a wild hawthorn tea, and Mango and elderflower sourdough cake made with ancient grains, tasty and good for you!

Thursday morning’s walk will be in Egypte woods, see you there!

Meadow flowers and grasses, if you haven’t realised by now, I adore meadows - a rarity these days.

A meadow in Tuscany, - inspired her to create the botanical Meadow blends of flour for nutrition and biodiversity to enhance gut health.

I’ve also been inspired by Sally Gouldstone of who is celebrating her award for Sustainability at

I can count both of these inspiring women as teachers of mine, Sally at and Vanessa at

As an AuDHD woman I have lived with poor gut health for 45years! I’ve also had skin problems over the last 35 years. These are linked. The skin is the largest organ of the body and often shows what is going on internally. Over the years I have found solace in nature, grounding has been a key factor in regulating my traumatised nervous system…that knowledge seeps into everything I do.

I am developing a wildflower meadow on arable land, focusing on restoring the soil initially.

After many years of dabbling, and deepening my practice with herbs I shall be selling both sourdough and artisan crafted herbal
balms and creams from this summer.

I’ve had a passion for books since childhood, they were my sanctuary then.

As a teen, I entered the world of food and catering for others, in UK hotels and restaurants learning silver service, and the busyness (high stress of a restaurant kitchen), and a private catering and event company in London.

It was the latter that has inspired me over the years - 2 women starting out, cooking from home in south London. Some years later, I left the Finance sector to establish something similar. But one day hunting for local ingredients in Jersey’s Central marketplace, I was overcome with nausea from the aromas. I was pregnant. That was 1989!

Now my 4 children are grown, and the youngest turns 30 this year. It’s been a year of reflection, revisiting influences over the years. My love of cook books has helped me through the challenges. Wild food, seasonal, natural, of the place, gardens, all feature on my kitchen bookshelves now.

This morning I baked a garlic and rosemary sourdough focaccia, the recipe from ‘10-Minute Sourdough’ by
The recipe called for it to be baked in a bundt, not having one, I used a deep, loose-based, cake tin. It’s upside-down, but smells delicious!

Friends are visiting from the UK, the highly talented young filmmaker, opening the last evening. I’m looking forward to catching up with Lottie at lunch. is hosting a bbq. I hope they enjoy the focaccia. I bought some lovely microgreens from to share too.

Local, organic ingredients, diversity and nutrition - gut health and wellbeing. .tacheron
