Feathers Healing has been running for a full 10 years now and into its 11th, wow where has that time gone. I am Carol and have been an intuitive healer and seer since I was a little girl. Now I am teaching all kinds of healing modalities and running workshops. Its one of those weird things that you just grow up with, you accept that you may face rejection as a result of those differences, and you

learn that being on the outside and not fitting in, because of the different approach you have to issues, often comes comes from fear in others, as you seem to know things about people that they are unable, or not wanting to see. I am really comfortable with that part of myself now. So anyway, after many years of being confused about the way I never fitted, wondering why I seemed to know how people felt, could relate to a level not everyone appeared to relate at, I began searching for the reasons. I faced many challenges and lessons but life was never dull, it still never is but I love it. I eventually found Reiki and the Sekhem and those energy systems and attunements began to help me, refine and anchor my intuitive gift. I have over the last 20 years undertaken much reading and learning and honed the work that I was guided to do. My work is a joy and definitely a calling a vocation if you like. I live in accordance with my life purpose and follow the guidance that I am given by the Universe. When working with clients I focus on tailoring each session, to the client. In the last 6 years teaching has arrived, no one was more surprised than me, but I trusted and listened. I love sharing tools and facilitating growth and watching those that come through Feathers going on and some becoming teachers too, such an honour to be part of the journey. Much of the work that I do is intuitive and channeled more latterly working with sound and voice. Although I then seek to find formal qualifications to support what I am being guided to do, not because I need it but because generally people are more comfortable if you have a qualification that says you can. I understand, I accept and I enjoy the whole of the process, intuitive and formal training merging and blending just like the energies in the Universe. I work in a varied way both with individuals and working with groups. I channel and trance naturally although have undertaken one to one training and attended Arthur Finlay College. I have a Bachelor of Metaphysical Sciences, I am a trained Theta Healing Teacher, Sekhem and Reiki Master, Angel Reiki Master, Golden Dragon Priestess, EFT (Tapping) and Matrix Practitioner and an Essential Oil Practitioner, I have also trained to teach Munay Ki which is an amazing joy to share. I have done lots of uncertified training to broaden my understanding and knowledge in the world of the unseen in order to more effectively support the journey of the individuals drawn to Feathers and to ensure that I can be an enabler. The work that I do is about giving tools that allow individuals to unfold into their truth and full well-being, to hear the voice of their soul and gently immerse themselves in the joy that is the river of life. So what’s on my mind today, well all of this actually - following on from a fabulous mediation class with my open minded and awesome growth seekers in the feathers healing yurt.

These little nuggets came up as in one of the subtler spiritual challenges today is that many people have learned to *think about* their feelings rather than *feel* them.

They may also have absorbed the idea that being spiritual means staying positive, grateful, or "high vibration" all the time.

In reality, genuine spiritual growth usually requires becoming more honest, not more positive.

Start with sensation before interpretation

When something happens, instead of asking:

Why am I feeling this?
What does this mean?

Choose to ask instead

What am I noticing in my body right now?

Where do I feel this?

Is it tight, heavy, restless, warm, numb, shaky?

Feelings often show up in the body before the mind can name them.

Expand your emotional vocabulary

Many people use only a handful of emotional labels:

Happy
Sad
😡
Anxious

But there is a difference between:

* Disappointed and heartbroken
* Frustrated and resentful
* Peaceful and resigned
* Lonely and disconnected
* Grateful and relieved

The more precisely you can name an emotion, the less likely it is to control you unconsciously.

Notice the impulse to "fix" the feeling

A common pattern is:

1. Feel discomfort.
2. Immediately reach for a positive thought.
3. Never actually experience the feeling.

For example:

I'm hurt.

No, I should be grateful.

Or:

I'm angry.

Everything happens for a reason.

The positive statement may be true, but if it arrives too quickly, it can become a way of avoiding reality.

Allow two things to be true

Emotional maturity often sounds like:

I am grateful, and I am grieving.p
I trust life, and I am scared.
I love this person, and I am angry with them.
This experience helped me grow, and it hurt.

Holding both truths prevents forced positivity.

Practice sitting with emotions

When a feeling arises:

1. Name it.
2. Locate it in the body.
3. Breathe and stay with it for a minute or two.
4. Resist the urge to explain it away.

You do not need to solve every emotion. Sometimes it simply needs to be witnessed.

Watch for spiritual bypassing

This is when spiritual ideas are used to avoid emotional reality.

Examples include:

I shouldn't feel angry.
I need to stay positive.
If I were more evolved, this wouldn't bother me.
Everything is fine. when it clearly isn't.

A useful question is:

What feeling would I have to acknowledge if I stopped trying to be spiritual for a moment?

( bear in mind we have a soul so we are always spiritual just sometimes we are trying to appear spiritual. Don’t get me started on the word trying. )

The answer is often revealing.

Spiritually speaking, acceptance is not the same as positivity. Acceptance says:

This is what is here.

Only after we stop arguing with our actual experience can deeper peace emerge.

Some people teach lessons, some offer temporary support, and a rare few remain beside you through every season of life.

Pay attention to who only enjoys your sunshine and who still stands beside you during your storms. Those are your root people.
