!!!!!!! I can't tell you how overjoyed and grateful I am to announce I am joining the lovely and super talented team .bts 🩶🩶

I have missed tattooing so much!!! I absolutely can't wait to get back to it, and everyone at the studio has been so welcoming- I'm so excited!! 🫶🫶🫶

just in case you forgot!! Surrealism has long been close to my heart ❣️❣️❣️

I think it’s really interesting how often surrealism is assumed to be meaningless because it might not make ‘sense’ at first glance, but a lot of these pieces are actually some of the most personal and meaningful tattoos I’ve done

For example the bird piece in the last slide is a combination of a blue tit, many of which have been sweet company to my client and dear friend after they moved off island, and a graph representing part of the Drake Equation (a formula predicting the likelihood of extraterrestrial life in the Milky Way, no relation to the rapper) which they had memorised in school and we have many fond memories around 🪐👾

I’ve also been reading some really interesting essays about how surrealism is inherent to imagining a better world, because it requires seeing things not as they are, and being able to imagine something which doesn’t exist yet 🫶🪰🤲🪱❣️ Maybe the next surrealists could be a little less sexist:’) (I’m looking at you, Andre Breton)

But if rearranging the world as we know it sounds like too much to take on right now, feel free to start with arranging a sick tattoo;)

A lot’s gone on the last few months, and a lot of people have asked if I’ve moved, where I’m based, what I’m doing. The short answer is I haven’t moved yet, I’m still in Jersey, and I’m chillin, killin, praying to catch a break lol:’)

Just a small town artist with some big industry thoughts:') Everyone be nice !

I'm not saying this is faultless, I'm sure there are things I don't know on this topic- and I welcome more info! But I'm glad the DBS check conversation started, I'm glad it's pretty widespread, and I'm glad to see a lot of artists in favour, and maybe some of these thoughts might be of interest to those people🫶

what do you get if you combine a rad idea and design free reign? 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀

Two subtly mythology inspired crab tattoos!!!! Flora and fauna tattoos are my faveeeeee, especially in fun placements like this!

The brief was: one crab under each knee, complimentary but not matching, bonus points for weird shapes and or textures💗

In brainstorming cool crabs we stumbled upon two genuses (or genera, I just found out is also an acceptable plural of genus) of crab named after Greek mythical monsters, so there was no contest!

All etching details were freestyled (no stencil) too! I'm always so grateful for your trust, thank you 🫀🫀

Here’s some that didn’t make the feed because of the blasted stencil machine/ pen marks🤬

Unpopular opinion, I can get tattooed for days but don’t come NEAR me with that kitchen roll!!!!!!!!!!! Wet wipe, dry wipe, all the same to me. I’m sorry that I ever have to do it to anyone, truly😭

Please tell me how you feel about the wipe (if you hate it I’ll feel validated as a person, if you love it I’ll feel pardoned as a tattoo artist)

Either way I didn’t think these deserved to be lost entirely to time, so I’m giving them their own place in Anti-Stencil-Mark Hall of Fame ❤️❤️❤️

Fingers crossed for many stencil machine blessings when I’m all set in Glasgow, otherwise I’m free handing everything forever:)

chrysanthemums for 🖤🖤

this project was such a treat and developed so much from the original concept! 🦇

El sent a variety of references over, more a vibe for shapes and flow than specific flowers, and from there we ended up changing the size, placement, number of flowers, and toyed with additional elements and decided against them.

Striking that balance of ideas is what I strive for with every session, but it's extra special when I've had the pleasure of tattooing someone a few times, and can tweak bits to what I know of them🫀

El wanted something to come up over the hip which complemented but was different to her other tattoos, and trusted me with full choice of what flowers and details. I am obsessed with the way chrysanthemums can flow and be manipulated and I just love how this came out. The freehand etching gives it that extra shape and contrast, without wanting to go as dark as some other tattoos.

This was such a joy😭🫶 I can't wait to tattoo more etched florals in Glasgow ❣️❣️❣️

Please everybody tell what you're going as this year 🫶🫶🫶 I have decided on Angelique the cenobite from Hellraiser 2:) gonna have my whole skull out in town this weekend 😌
