Good morning, my fabulous friends! Happy Sunday! 🥳 I just wanted to pop in for a quick check-in and share some exciting news. Remember my book Raising Nathan Against All Odds? Well, as you may remember, it snagged an International Impact Book Awards 🎉 The awards event is happening in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 2. Of course, hubby Robert Ebanks and I are turning the trip into a full-on date-night, delayed anniversary celebration weekend getaway! 💃🏽🕺🏽

As I prep for the big night which will also include an author's conference and networking events, I’ll keep you all updated on the fun stuff—like my dress/outfit options (fashion show, anyone? 👗), and the grand adventure of relearning how to do my own makeup! 💄 There’ll be cameras everywhere, and I’ll even be doing an interview for ABC 7! 😱📺

Honestly, it feels like you’ve all been in the trenches with me/us on this journey, so I’ll celebrate you just as much as I’ll celebrate this milestone. Today, I’m joining with more than 17 million people with cerebral palsy and their families and supporters to celebrate . I give God thanks for my superhero son, Nathan, who lights up every room with his courage and contagious joy. 💚✨ Living with cerebral palsy doesn’t define him—it’s just one part of his incredible story. Today, I honor his strength, resilience, and the pure love he brings to our lives.

Nathan, you inspire me and countless others worldwide every single day to see life through a lens of hope, gratitude, and purpose. Your smile is our sunshine, your laughter our melody, and your unstoppable spirit reminds us that limitations are just opportunities to create new paths. 💪🏽💫

🌟 Exciting Announcement 🌟

Necessity is the Mother of Invention

As the mother of Nathan, who has cerebral palsy and is nonverbal, one of my greatest fears has always been not knowing what goes on in his school day or when I leave him with a caregiver. Since he was young, I’ve used a notebook to jot down key information—what he ate, how much he drank, if he urinated, and other important markers of health.

This practice died out as he got older. But last year, after Nathan endured hospitalization with major intestinal surgery, I realized I couldn’t answer questions about his daily routine during those critical times. So, I reinstated the notebook for school, sharing details about his night and morning while his aide wrote about his school day. However, as life got busy, some needed information was sometimes missing.

The author in me got to work, and with my talented creative designer Jonathan Nwagwuagwu, today, I'm thrilled to share the newest book release - My Special Travel Companion Log and Notebook: For Home and School Communication—a personalized logbook designed to track important daily details. It's now available on Amazon, and I can't wait to use it when Nathan heads to school on Monday! 🎒

Last week, I had the distinct pleasure of being interviewed by Logan Crawford, Emmy Award-winning broadcaster and actor known for his work on various television shows and movies, including "Blue Bloods," "The Blacklist," "Person of Interest," "The Irishman," and "The Big Short." He hosts "Spotlight with Logan Crawford" on The Spotlight Network, where he interviews a range of emerging and established authors, writers, and other creators.
I was delightfully surprised when I got an email from the Book to Life Marketing team that Logan Crawford had invited me back for a second and longer round of interviews, which I did yesterday.
