H10 Hotels is strengthening its luxury brand portfolio in Jamaica with the rebranding of Ocean Eden Bay in Coral Spring, Trelawny, to Ocean Allure Eden Bay, effective November 1, 2026.

The rebrand places the Trelawny property within H10 Hotels’ Ocean Allure collection of luxury adults-only resorts, marking a new chapter for the property as the group continues to refine and expand its premium hospitality offering across the Caribbean.

Ocean Allure Eden Bay will operate as an adults-only luxury resort, with an enhanced guest experience designed around personalised service, premium amenities and elevated culinary offerings.

The repositioned resort will introduce features including welcome champagne, personalised concierge services, 24-hour room service and an unlimited culinary experience. Guests staying in the Privilege category will also benefit from dedicated butler service.

With the Ocean Allure name now extending to Jamaica, H10 Hotels continues to build its international luxury resort portfolio while reinforcing its presence in the Caribbean.

UNICO Hotel Collection has opened reservations for UNICO 18°77° Montego Bay, its first resort in Jamaica and first property outside Mexico.

The adults-only, all-inclusive resort is scheduled to open on March 1, 2027.
The 451-room resort will add to Montego Bay’s growing portfolio of upscale all-inclusive properties, with nearly all rooms and suites featuring ocean views and outdoor spa tubs.

The property will feature nine restaurant and bar concepts, four pools, the brand’s largest Esencia Wellness Spa, and indoor and outdoor spaces for events. Guests will also have access to UNICO’s Local Host service, offering personalised assistance with dining, excursions and destination experiences.
UNICO says the Montego Bay property will incorporate Jamaican culture, cuisine, music, artistry and local experiences into the guest experience, including live entertainment, culinary experiences, artisan workshops and cultural programming.

The opening represents the brand’s expansion beyond Mexico and adds another international hotel brand to Montego Bay’s evolving tourism and investment landscape.

Reservations are currently open for stays beginning March 1, 2027.

The Falmouth Public General Hospital is set to benefit from a major fundraising initiative as the Sandals Foundation launches the Island Challenge Jamaica 2026, targeting £100,000 to strengthen the hospital’s neonatal and paediatric services.

The four-day endurance challenge will take place October 2–5, 2026, with more than 30 athletes from the United Kingdom, along with local and international partners, converging in Ocho Rios for a series of land and sea endurance activities.

Proceeds from the challenge will support the acquisition of critical equipment and resources to strengthen care for newborns, infants and children at Falmouth Hospital.

The initiative is particularly significant as the hospital continues efforts to strengthen its paediatric and neonatal capacity following the impact of Hurricane Melissa, which resulted in the loss of essential equipment and affected services.

The Jamaica edition of the Island Challenge represents a significant partnership between the Sandals Foundation, Sandals Resorts, tourism partners, athletes and other stakeholders, demonstrating the tourism industry’s role in supporting critical community needs.

The JHTA Montego Bay Chapter has commended the organizers of Dream Weekend 2026 for successfully relocating the festival to Montego Bay, where it delivered significant economic benefits from July 30 to August 3, 2026.

Despite reduced room stock following Hurricane Melissa, the five-day entertainment event generated strong business for hotels, short-term rentals, restaurants, transportation providers, craft vendors, attractions and other small businesses, highlighting the growing value of entertainment tourism to the destination.

JHTA Montego Bay Chapter Chair, Kerry Ann Quallo Casserly, said, "Dream Weekend 2026 showcased Montego Bay's resilience and reinforced the power of entertainment tourism to drive economic activity across our city. We commend the organizers for delivering a safe, well-executed event that created meaningful opportunities for businesses large and small while further strengthening Montego Bay's position as a premier tourism and entertainment destination."

As Jamaica's tourism industry continues to expand, the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) has launched its Human Capital and Workforce Development Committee, a strategic initiative aimed at developing a skilled, future-ready workforce to support the sector's long-term growth.

Announced by JHTA President O'Brian Heron, the Committee will be co-chaired by Dr. Omar Robinson and Clifton Reader and will focus on strengthening partnerships with educational institutions, addressing workforce needs, promoting training and certification, and creating stronger career pathways into tourism.

"Our people remain the foundation of Jamaica's tourism success," said Heron. "This initiative is about investing in talent, creating opportunities and ensuring our workforce is equipped to meet the evolving needs of the industry."

Royalton Hotels & Resorts is set to reopen five of its Jamaica resorts this summer, signalling continued confidence in the island's thriving tourism industry.

Three Negril properties will reopen on August 25, followed by two Montego Bay resorts on September 15, welcoming guests with refreshed accommodations, upgraded facilities and enhanced all-inclusive experiences.
