You probably have heard the term "Geneva Convention". But why isn't it "Moscow convention" or "Berlin Convention" or even "London Convention" as they're much influential and famous cities. You see "Geneva convention" is a set of rules which all countries must follow, they include the regulations about how countries should fight war, how prisoners of wars must be treated or how civillian population must be protected. Things started when a Swiss guy "Henry Dunant" was worried about wounded soldiers in the "Battle of Solferino", so he pushed for a treaty to safeguard human rights even in the state of war. Eventually the International Committee of Red Cross was estabilished in Geneva and just one year later, Switzerland being a neutral country invited all other nations to sign the Geneva Treaty. However the city of Geneva was chosen because the ICRC was already estabilished inside Geneva.

The UK is having the seventh prime minister in a decade, after Kier Starmer said that he'll soon resign. But who was actually the best leader in British History? Firstly we got Robert Walpole, he was the first prime minister of the UK, this dude avoided wars, encouraged trade and recovered British economy after a big financial crash. Then we have Margaret Thatcher who clutched Falklands and was a major US ally during the cold war, earning her the name Iron lady by the Soviets. Third on our list is David Lloyd George who led Britain to victory during World War 1. While at the top we got Winston Churchill as he led the UK during world war 2, later made Britain a nuclear power and was a pain for soviets during the cold war. One more is Clement Attlee, who over saw rebuilding Britain after the damages of world war 2 and most importantly created the National Health Services.

If you zoom into Europe, you'll see the Suwalki Gap, this tiny gap connects Baltic countries to the rest of NATO, but unfortunately it has Kaliningrad on one side and Belarus to the other. The problem is that Russia can easily block this tiny gap, because of it's heavy military presence in Kaliningrad. Which could easily starve Baltic countries of NATO supplies and forcing NATO to use water and air routes. However this Suwalki gap is also kind of a trap for Russia. Because if Russia tries to block this Suwalki gap, it'll trigger the Article 5 of NATO (an attack on one is an attack on all), meaning that Russia will dig it's own grave. But Russia will most probably not attack Suwalki gap, as NATO's presence is already really strong due to Sweden's membership in NATO.

Why is Indonesia changing its capital? Jakarta has been facing big problems for years, it is too crowded, polluted, and some parts of the city are sinking. In 2019, Indonesia announced it would build a new capital called Nusantara in East Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo. The idea is to build a new, modern, and greener city, and spread development across Indonesia instead of focusing only on Java. Construction started in 2022, with new government buildings, roads, and homes being built. The new capital will become the center of the country and reduce pressure on Jakarta. The project is expected to be fully completed by 2045.

Why are there no major railway networks in South America like Europe? You see when railways came to South America in the 1800s, they were mostly built to take resources like coffee, meat, and minerals from farms and mines to ports. They were not built to connect cities across the continent. Another big problem was geography. South America has huge mountains like the Andes and the massive Amazon rainforest, making railway construction very difficult and expensive. Also, South American countries are very large and far apart, so connecting them was much harder than in Europe. Another problem was that each country built railways separately, and some even used different railway gauges, meaning trains from one country could not easily run on another country's tracks. Then cars and trucks became popular, so many governments focused on roads instead of expanding railways. So South America did build many railways, but they were mostly separate lines, not one giant connected network like Europe.

Why isn't Georgia a NATO member? See Georgia has the prime location for NATO and corenering Russia from all sides, but what actually is stopping Georgia for joining NATO? The very obvious reason is the Russian presence on Abkhazia and South Ossetia, both regions are legal territories of Georgia and Russia has stationed troops their without Georgian consent. However if NATO does allow Georgia to join, it'll invoke article 5 of NATO, because then Russia will be having it's troops stationed inside a NATO member, and the alliance will be provoked to collide with Russia. The second reason is that most critics argue that the Georgian leadership is leaned towards Moscow. As obvious by Georgia not putting Sanctions on Russia even after the Ukraine Invasion. The Georgian government however says that if they put sanctions on Russia, it'll provoke Russians which are already inside Georgia and will give a low blow to Georgian economy which is deeeply rooted with Russia. and Fun fact Russia is the second largest trade partner of Georgia after Turkey followed by China. Another reason is policies like "Foreign Agents" law, which resemble the Russian system, questions their democracy and has stalled their NATO membership.

So we know that Greenland is a part of Denmark, and we also know that Denmark is an old member of the EU, so why isn't Greenland in EU too? See back in time when Denmark joined the EEC, Greenland joined automatically. However the people of Greenland didn't want to join the community, but they couldn't do anything because Greenland didn't have home rule. Some time passed and Greenlanders became worried about losing control of their Fishing waters, because of European Common Fishing Policies, and fishing is a major contribution towards Greenland's exports. So in 1982, Greenland held a referendum and in 1985, Greenland officially left the union.

Video:
Can USA and UAE create a canal through UAE to bypass the Strait of Hormuz? You see it's kind of possible as a Canal going from Dubai to the Eastern Coast of UAE would be around 90 miles in total, for a comparison it's shorter than the Suez Canal which is 120 miles. This canal will bypass the Iranian controlled waters in the Strait of Hormuz and allow ships to move through this new canal. So why isn't anyone building this? You see eventhough the terrain around the Suez Canal is kind of flat, it still took around 10 years to dig it. Now comparing it to the region of this new Canal, it contains mountain ranges like the Hajar mountains, which will make this project extremely hard and expensive. Moreover since the UAE has American military bases and is a great ally of the US, Iran might straight target this new canal, hence making this new canal useless and unsuitable for shipping.

Did you know Japan almost embrace Islam? You see during the early 1900s when Japan surprisingly clutched a win against the Russian Empire, many Asian countries under European colonizers began to see Japan as overpowered, and Japan thought that the Muslims in these countries will be a useful tool against the European empires. So Japan spread fake news that they will host a religious congress and seriously consider making Islam as the main religion of the country, plus they said that Emperor Meiji will convert to Islam too. In reality it was just a Japanese propaganda inorder to win Muslim support, increasing Japanese influence infront of European empires.

Did you know some countries changed their capitals? Prime example is Russia, which changed it's capital from St. Petersburg to Moscow, for strategic and safety reasons, because the old capital St. Petersburg was vulnerable due to invading German forces. Then we got Kazakhstan which changed it's capital from Almaty and Astana in 1997, because the new capital was more centrally located. Another country is Myanmar which switched capitals from Yangon to Naypyidaw because their Government was scared of foreign seaborn invasions. Then we have Pakistan which changed it's capital from Karachi to Islamabad in 1967. In Africa we have Nigeria on the list, and they shifted their capital from Lagos to Abuja in December 1991, because Lagos was simply too crowded. Next on our list is Tanzania, and they too shifted their capital from Dares Salaam to Dodoma. One more is Brazil and they switched from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia in 1960.
