December 2025. Only one Onsen Village this year, unfortunately i was on a very limited time schedule and only 9 days in Japan. The majority of the trip was Samurai research but i am so glad i made the effort to see Unazuki Onsen. To see more of Japan and travels martial arts, parts of japan visit instagram themovementclinictravels. Deep in the mountains of Toyama near the Kurobe Gorge I am in the small rustic town of Unazuki Onsen Village. A place to escape tourists absoluteway off the beaten track, easy straightforward from Tokyo.

Tokyo to Kurobegorge-Unazuki Onsen station 2Hr then a small local train on the railway across the road 30min later will bring you direct to the middle of the town last stop.

Have always wanted to see Unazuki Onsen, staying one night. This trip only one Onsen village At least I spent the days fully immersed in hot spring water.

I have walked so much this trip so my legs are looking forward to the Onsen day and night. The pictures are from the day Onsen at and staying at Love Onsen Hotels, free snacks at night, coffee, tea, drinks and tonight free beer asahi. Never been a beer person but for some reason I only drink beer in Japan Asahi and all the different types. 😀not much open in the town apart from one or two small restaurants. Had the best chicken, onion, mushroom and rice bowl with all the condiments for only ¥840 huge bowl such a bargain. The clouds seriously roll in at 3.00pm and all goes dark quick. If I was to run into a bear 🐻 it would definitely be in Unazuki the mountains surround the village with the river running alongside.
