When life feels overwhelming,
When you notice your jaw clenching, your sleep disrupted, or your shoulders creeping up to your ears, take it to heart and know it’s time to pause.
1. Pause and Breathe
Even 30 seconds of deep breathing—inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4—can calm you and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This helps reduce stress hormones like cortisol and brings your body back to a healing state.
2. Repeat Words That Ground You
It’s not a denial of what’s hard—it’s a reminder of what’s true.
"I’ve faced hard things before. I can face this too."
"I don’t need to do it all right now. Just one step at a time."
3. Move Your Body Gently
Stretch. Walk. Step outside. Movement—especially in nature—helps release anxious energy. Even five minutes can shift your mood.
4. Let Someone In
Call a friend, or sit with someone in silence. You don’t have to carry everything alone.
5. Rest Without Guilt
Sleep is healing. Stillness is productive. If your body is asking for rest, honor
You’re doing more than enough.
You are not alone.
You are already healing.
