You're allowed to say this:

"I respond to email between 8:30 and 6:30, Monday through Friday. If it's urgent, call me."

That's not refusing to work hard.

It's refusing to treat everything like an emergency, which is exactly the discipline a lot of operations have lost.

If you've been running in permanent crisis mode, this is where it starts to shift.

Here's a small thing that could change everything: every Thursday around 11am, send your manager one line.

"What are the priorities for next week? What are the deadlines?"

That's it.

Now expectations are on record before the weekend, before the 11pm email, before the Monday scramble.

You're managing the schedule instead of reacting to one.

Full breakdown of this (and the other move that goes with it) is in Tuesday's blog post — link in bio.

60, 90 days. When the hours are long because they have to be.

That kind of tired makes sense.

The problem isn't that stage. It's when the emergency never officially ends, and two years in, someone's still running the operation like it's day ten.

New post is up Tuesday.

It's about the manager who never turns off the siren, and what you can actually do about it if that's you right now.

Link will be in bio.

If you've read The Recovery I Didn't Budget For and it landed for you, but you're not ready to have a conversation, start with The Mission Reset.

Five practices for staying sane in mission, drawn from what I actually used through eight solid years in Cox's Bazar. It's free.

Coaching thought: recovery isn't only in the mind.

This is why my practice includes functional movement, because some of what a hard posting leaves behind isn't reachable through conversation alone.
