【修復記録3：襖裏面「西湖図」「馬図」】
虎図の襖裏面に描かれていた、藤桃斎（1752–1820）筆「西湖図」と、作者不明の「馬図」の修復も完了した。
こちらも傷みが激しく、裏打ち紙で補強するとともに、その色味をまわりの絵になじませる調整を行った。
本来の味わいや良さを損なわぬよう細心の注意を払い、全体として自然な印象となるよう仕上げている。
過度に整いすぎることなく、時の経過が生む趣を残すことを心がけた。
次回は、高級美術複製画の紹介。
[Restoration Note 3: “View of West Lake” and “Horses” on the reverse side of the Tiger fusuma]
The restoration of two paintings on the reverse side of the Tiger fusuma is now complete:
“View of West Lake” by Totosai (1752–1820), and an anonymous “Horse Painting.”
Both works were severely damaged, so we reinforced the surfaces with new lining paper and carefully adjusted the tones to blend naturally with the surrounding images.
Every step was taken with care to preserve the original character and texture of the artwork while achieving a harmonious and natural result.
Rather than over-restoring, we aimed to retain the quiet charm brought by the passage of time.
Next time, we will introduce a high-quality reproduction of a classical Japanese painting.
