Chief Mosquito Officer 山口真広がAMV 2026に登壇！🦟🌍

Chief Mosquito Officer（CMO）山口真広が、AMV 2026に登壇し、スケーラブルかつ費用対効果の高い幼虫発生源管理（LSM）の実現に向けた、AIを活用した媒介蚊サーベイランスの現場導入について発表しました。

AIはさまざまな分野を急速に変革しています。
そして、ベクターコントロールも例外ではありません。

SORA Technologyでは、AIは単なる概念実証（PoC）の段階にとどまらず、すでに実際の蚊の対策現場で活用されています。AIを活用して蚊の幼虫発生源を特定し、優先的に対策すべき場所を判断することで、より的確でスケーラブルなLSMの実現を支援しています。

蚊媒介感染症との闘いにおいて、AIを「イノベーション」から「現場での実装」へとつなげていく当社の取り組みを共有する貴重な機会となりました。

マラリアゼロまで、あと一歩
ザンジバルの「最後の一押し」をテクノロジーで支援 🦟🚁🌍

長年にわたる懸命なマラリア対策により、ザンジバルのマラリア罹患率はわずか0.04％まで低下し、マラリア排除の実現に最も近い地域の一つとなっています。しかし、「マラリアゼロ」を実現するためには、雨期に発生する一時的な水たまりやアクセス困難な湿地など、蚊の幼虫発生源を迅速かつ正確に特定し、対策する幼虫発生源管理（LSM）のさらなる効率化が重要です。

SORA Technologyは、WHO、ザンジバルマラリア排除プログラム（ZAMEP）、イファカラ保健研究所（IHI）と連携し、日本政府の資金支援のもと、この「最後の一押し」をテクノロジーで支援します。衛星データ、ドローン、AI、デジタル管理ツールを組み合わせて幼虫発生源を高精度に検出し、SORA Technologyが独自に開発した薬剤散布用ドローン「TSUBASA」によるピンポイントの薬剤散布を実施。より効果的・効率的で持続可能なLSMを通じて、「マラリアゼロのザンジバル」の実現に貢献していきます。🚀

The Final Push Toward a Malaria-Free Zanzibar 🦟🚁🌍

After decades of sustained efforts, Zanzibar has reduced malaria incidence to just 0.04%—bringing the region remarkably close to malaria elimination. But reaching zero requires tackling one of the toughest remaining challenges: identifying and managing mosquito breeding sites quickly and efficiently through Larval Source Management (LSM).

SORA Technology is proud to support this final push. In collaboration with WHO, the Zanzibar Malaria Elimination Programme (ZAMEP), and Ifakara Health Institute (IHI), with funding support from the Government of Japan, we are combining satellite data, drones, AI and digital field management platform to make LSM faster, more precise, and more scalable. High-risk mosquito breeding sites are identified using satellite and drone imagery analyzed by AI, followed by precision larvicide application using “TSUBASA,” SORA Technology’s proprietary drone developed specifically for larvicide application.

Together, we aim to help turn Zanzibar’s remarkable progress into the ultimate milestone: a malaria-free Zanzibar. 🚀

Chief Mosquito Officer（CMO）山口真広が、東京のアジア開発銀行研究所（ADBI）で開催された「Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable on Philanthropy for Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals: Partnership Building for a Healthy Asia and Pacific」に登壇しました。

アジア太平洋地域におけるAIやデジタルイノベーションを活用したヘルスケアについて議論するセッションの中で、SORA Technologyに投げかけられた一つの問い。

「SORA Technologyは、どのようにスケールしていくのか？」

私たちがよく聞かれる、そして非常に重要な問いです。

私たちの答えは、
「我々はすでにスケールを見据えた取り組みを進めている」ということ。

ドローンは、現場の状況を高解像度かつ詳細に把握することを可能にします。そして、このアプローチを都市、さらには国レベルへと拡大していくため、SORA Technologyは衛星技術を有する企業を買収・子会社化。これにより、衛星データ、AI、ドローン、そして現場でのオペレーションを組み合わせたアプローチを推進しています。

テクノロジーが「機能する」ことを証明するフェーズから、それを「スケールできる」ことを証明するフェーズへ。

CMO Joins ADBI Roundtable🌏🚀Our Chief Mosquito Officer, Masahiro Yamaguchi, recently joined the Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable on Philanthropy for Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals: Partnership Building for a Healthy Asia and Pacific, held at the Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo.

During a session exploring AI and digital innovation for health across Asia and the Pacific, one question came up clearly:

“How will SORA Technology scale?”

It’s a question we hear often — and an important one.

Our answer: we are already building for scale.

Drones provide high-resolution intelligence on the ground. To expand this approach across cities and countries, SORA Technology has acquired a satellite technology company, enabling us to combine satellite data, AI, drones, and field operations.

From proving the technology works to proving it can scale — that is the next challenge we are preparing for.
