I mix this by hand for every batch, and it’s one of my favorite ingredients to talk about because most people have never heard of it.

It’s a surfactant blend derived from coconut and plant sugars, and it does the same job as something like SLS, cleansing your skin, without the same tradeoffs. SLS can disrupt the balance of bacteria living on your skin, and strip the lipids that hold your skin barrier together. That’s part of why some cleansers leave your face feeling tight right after you rinse.

I wanted something that would work with my skin instead of against it, so this blend became one of the first things I formulated when I started Sanbe. It cleanses just as well, and your skin still feels like itself afterward, soft, balanced, never stripped.
