MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST

Santa Clara Medical Clinic is committed to providing quality, patient-centered healthcare services to the community. We are seeking a competent, dedicated, and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team and support the delivery of accurate and timely diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Management
* Receive, label, process, and store patient specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols.
* Ensure proper handling and documentation of blood, urine, stool, and other clinical samples.
Laboratory Testing
* Perform routine and specialized hematological, biochemical, microbiological, serological, and parasitological tests.
* Ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
Equipment Maintenance
* Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
* Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate timely repairs.
Quality Assurance
* Adhere to Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS).
* Participate in internal quality control and external quality assurance programs.
Reporting and Documentation
* Record, validate, and communicate laboratory results accurately and promptly.
* Maintain proper laboratory records and patient confidentiality.
Safety and Compliance
* Strictly observe infection prevention and control measures.
* Ensure proper segregation and disposal of biohazardous waste.
* Comply with all regulatory and professional laboratory standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
* Must be registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
* Possession of a valid and current KMLTTB practicing license.
* Relevant clinical laboratory experience will be an added advantage.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in computer applications and laboratory information management.
* High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
